4chan I know likes him, and I can only guess he's grown on NeoGaf and reddit as well. He's one of the best newcomer choices from recently made games. Besides Shulk. Dillon also comes to mind as well.
I theorize that Lucina, Robin, Tharja, and score so high compared to others because Ive polled Serena's Forest, and Im sure they would pick multiple FE characters over others in that community. I really want to poll other communities, like DKVine, Pokebeach, /vp/, and any other communities dedicated to specific games.
Speculation on character popularity for Smash 5
Big choices that don't make it in as playable like, Ridley Mewtwo, and K Rool will continue to dominate the rest of the cast, but in the wake of Palutena, Little Mac, Mega Man, and Chrom's inclusion a new group will take it's place. Krystal if she is in SFWii U will likely take her Pre-Brawl status as one of the big five, with Dixie Kong joining her. If we get a new Fire Emblem game, I think we will see Robin and Lucina's popularity decrease while the new stand outs rise up. Now, if we don't have a new FE by then, I would say Robin and Lucina will see more competition from Lyn, and smaller characters like Anna because this will be an even. With a lack of new characters, the fact that FE characters are always popular choices, AND we already have an Awakening character in Smash (Chrom) I predict LESS FE CHARACTER VOTES, but an even playing feild for all fan favorites. Lucas and Snake will undoubtedly have a large number of votes, but I don't see either of them making top five. Isaac may make top five, but I think he will fall in popularity due to a lack of GS games recently. Wonder Red, will probably become the new Isaac, in the sense that he's gonna be the most popular Small franchise character. Ghirahim, Majora and other various LoZ characters will keep moderate popularity, but none will become extremely popular, besides whoever shows up in LoZWii U. Impa, possibly Tingle, and new villains will be the LoZ characters to look out for. Bowser Junior will probably stay the Mario newcomer stand out, unless we see some major switch up in the Mario series (Like a new Bro / Not Bowser villain). Waluigi will be forever moderate, along with Paper Mario. Toad and Junior will be in competition with each other once again, since Captain Toad is going to make people love Toad even more. Besides Mewtwo, I figure Blaziken will overtake Sceptile once he is confirmed to not be in Smash 4, and Zoroark will keep his lower / moderate popularity. Xenoblade characters will likely be popular once more, especially the new X hero.
