He confirmed that he didn't do that on purpose on twitter actually.
"Oh yes, I avoided all contact with my opponent until the time ran out ACCIDENTALLY! Also, did I mention that I am the best smash player in the WORLD enough times yet? My ZSS RECKED E3 yall!"

To be fair, Capps was referring to KDJ and the community-wide assumption that he sandbagged in to the Megaman FS.

I'm honestly curious then, because it seems all too clear that he ran in to it. I couldn't imagine a player like KDJ doing that accidentally, but if he says so...

Oh, sorry for not reading then. As for the KDJ thing, I don't know because I only saw the final round.

I could actually answer that.

Because it was a new game KDJ might not of knew how the special worked.

So as the special passed him in it's small ball form, he ran to attack the other enemies afterwards, but then it expanded.
Since he would of been surprised that it expanded, he might not of had time to stop.

It's not impossible to play that way in even Melee.

See : Apex 2012.

It's simply a play style that I think was unsuited for a tournament meant to be 100% for fun/show, and unfortunately Zero takes pride in being the king of it. Don't think his match VS ADHD should need to be linked again...

I don't think it's beneficial to development at all. The offensive/defensive doesn't need to change.

Luckily his play style is inordinately rare as most have fun with Smash by actually attacking.
Oh man the ending to that match vs ADHD was priceless tho XD

but damn, that was pretty harsh towards Zero, he does alot to promote smash, and on live internet TV at E3 I'd probably do anything to win also.

I see alot of competitive matches in other fighting games where they "lame it out" by running away or blocking until the clock reaches zero.
Running the clock, like edgehogging, is a dirty but totally viable strategy to win.

Oh wait, edgehogging has finally been removed in Smash 4.

Throwing in my two cents before I decide to vanish once more:

Is compromise impossible? Do we have to have Melee 2.0, or something with even more ATs? Is any game that does not have an entire library of esoteric and difficult to master techniques automatically horrible? And don't say you don't want Melee 2.0. Quite a few people who seem to hate Sm4sh seem to want exactly the things that Melee had, but with new characters/stages/items. Physics-wise, the fact that it's better than Brawl doesn't seem to make people happy, they just complain that it's not close enough to Melee's style of combat.

I mean, there are things I want changed too, here and there, but nothing major. Just knowing that it's already faster than Brawl, but not as fast as Melee has me super hyped for this.

And if Sm4sh turns out to be "garbage" or whatnot, won't the competitive community end up making another version of Project M with all of their favorite toys? I mean, people already pretty much say that Sakurai is wrong for telling people what he wanted out of his creation, so why even discuss it? Those who like it will like it, and those who don't will Project M Sm4sh.

Oh wait. Some people feel the need to remind others how terrible the game they're excited for is and how the game that they like is a far better, in-depth, advanced game. MY BAD.
