so today i fought a decent ROB for the first time in a very long time and i was reminded of how difficult of a matchup this is. at the end of the day i'd say the matches were split 50/50 but still i had to work very hard for my wins, even more so than i do against a snake. anyways two things really got to me during the matches 1) rob's down throw to up-air. i couldnt avoid it. it seems the down throw stuns you for a little while. a few times i was able to down-air him be4 he up aired but about 70% of the time his "combo" worked.
2) rob's spot dodge and dodge roll are ridiculously good. there were times when he spot dodged my entire dancing blade, and this happened 3 or 4 times. i dont think i was ever forced to play my marth so safe. it wasnt fun. also its pretty gay fighting someone with attack range that rivals/trumps that of marth.

anyways point of thread. those with knowledge of the rob-marth match-up please give tips and strategies here

ROB is my least played char on my statistics for a reason >< **** ROB

To beat ROB you really have to learn his d-smash ground dodge rolling pattern (cause they always do some mix of that)... everything else isn't too scary.

He actually lags quite a bit after his projectiles so try to abuse that by staying in his face (but outside of d-smash range).

I've never seen d-throw u-air... the ROBs I've played go for the b-throw kill. It may be like Lucas' d-throw u-tilt and that it's insanely hard to escape.

the only thing i could say is i get snaged by a spike sometimes when i fly out to try and finish them off the stage, so maybe play itsafeand donttry for spikes, use less risky tactics to finish them off,

although the only rob experience i have is online, andalso what i know from playing rob myself,... which is to roll and Dsmash....

The next thread for discussion during the following week will likely be between R.O.B., Dedede or G&W. I am personally wanting to go with R.O.B., but it may change. Those are the next three on my list I want to get done.
