The purpose and tactical strategy for Tether recovery

I wanna know the real purpose, or how it really benefits.

Or is it just an edgeguarding type tactic?

Well think of this. If you are falling after being hit and you see a person edgeguarding. To save yourself from being pwnd you can teither and wont have to worrry about being pwnd unless you miss the tether.

a tethered recovery has no lag, meaning you can jump, attack, fall, or whatever you want as soon as you touch the ledge. You even get a few invincibility frames by doing so. It also makes your character that much harder to spike or gimp.

olimar compensates for his crumby tether recovery with his fairly awesome tether attack~~

I didn't know you could jump out of the tether recovery, is it like if you get the ledge you can jump right on it, even while still in the air after the tether landed on ledge?

sheik's is amazing, guys... so fast. sheik has one of the most amazing ledge games because of her fast chain tether.

tether is quicker, can give u a safer edge hog when someone tries to sweet spot it, and it looks cool.

Tether recoveries only seem to work on ledges that players can grab. Therefore, they're rendered useless on stages like Port Town Aero Dive.
