It's hard enough trying to attend to the duties set by your bigger, more striking father, but now the Prince has to stay on track while dealing with a highly skilled soldier, a fiery plumber and... whatever Kirby is supposed to be.

The Prince is a perfect sweet spot of a character that not many others are. He's not totally obscure or forgotten that he has no reason to be in Smash, yet he's obscure enough that most don't know who he is and even those who do would be just as shocked at his conclusion. With the recent announcement of the Switch (and PC) exclusive remake of the original cult classic, Katamari Damacy, Katamari Damacy Reroll, he's more than ready to join the ultimate showdown of gaming history!

The Prince would be a very unique individual if he were to come to Smash, since he'd mostly likely have his trademark Katamari with him at all times. A character that always has an object with them would be very interesting. The individual properties of the Katamari could also help make him more unique, the big sticky ball could be used in many different ways.

The Prince has a father, and a large one at that, so he could be a stage, a very strange stage but a stage like, 50 nonetheless. Accompanying said stage would be the gorgeous music the series is known for, with such tracks as Katamari On The Rocks, Lonely Rolling Star and Houston.

The prince has a lot of cousins, like, 50 of them or so. They could easily be his alt costumes. They could pick any of them changing up the looks, possibly sound and the colour of the Katamari they would hold.

The Prince is a treasured part of Namco's history, the game franchise he's from being widely praised, obscure as it is. I believe the Prince would be an incredible addition to the Smash roster.

Excellent write up, I really wish more people realized the Prince's potential and his role in Namco's history. Hell, even people who don't remember the character remember the Katamari itself and the iconic theme song! The Prince has so much he could bring to the table, and I think he'd be much more interesting than a lot of Namco's frontrunners/Namco characters people are talking about.
