Lame title, but I really couldn't think of one, so whatever.

Anyways, we all know Sakurai doesn't follow patterns, blah blah blah, but this is kind of interesting.

Series never repeat themselves in any given section. For example, we've received one, and only one, Mario stage. No others. Likewise, we'd received only one DK stage, Zelda stage, etc. etc. Furthermore, we've only received one, and only one, music update, normal item update, and AT item update per series.

Kind of interesting, yes? Seems as if he's trying to spread the updates on purpose so we get a little bit of everything. Could help us predict what updates are coming, or, perhaps, what updates are not.

Big, spooky castle in eastern europe.
That's a good point. We know that there's a mariokart stage, but that hasn't been Dojo'ed yet.

So which characters haven't had as much representation? Well, Sonic and Snake, obviously. I don't think we've seen a lot of stuff from Metroid: just the stage and the character stuff. Items? AT's?

All it means is that Sakurai is trying to avoid, for an example, flooding us with Mario stages or Mario AT's. Each (fairly major) series gets pretty good representation.

Characters are somewhat of an exception, perhaps because he has (in all probability) confirmed at least one character from every series that will get a starter, except for CF. Maybe he doesn't like CF.

Yes, the updates have a noticeable deviation from true randomness, or randomness within certain parameters.

I recall snake getting a huge update with music, a video, a stage and some mini clips. ;)

I made this a month ago:

So it's a month out of date... And I didn't include a distinction between items and ATs...

Looks like Grey Fox AT is the only thing I'm missing... There have been other items, but since I have grouped items and ATs together on that list, they already had checks...

The Fire Flower, Freezie, Super Mushroom, and Golden Hammer all came from Mario games. There are also multiple characters from the same franchise that are revealed. I honestly think that he is just showing us all of the unique and cool items in hopes of getting the few people who weren't planning on buying this game to get it.

The Fire Flower and Freezie and stuff didn't get their own special update though. Oh, and they're not new items either. So we can pretty much guess at what items and stages and music and stuff we'll be getting soon...except Pokeballs of course.

I noticed this a while back. The most interesting thing in my opinion, is that we haven't yet seen the Sonic stage. We've seen stages from EVERY other series, now, I think. We may be getting the Mario Kart stage soon...

I like the fact that its being mixed up. Keeps it interesting, because we never get exactly what we want, but at the same time come away surprised with each update.
