Hi Poké Center boards.

I don't frequent this part of the site too often - though I float by every now and then. I just wanted to share something with you guys that really got me interested in my copy of Pearl back when.

She wrote in depth individual Pokemon reviews for god-know-how-many-of-them. Ranging from Dunsparce to Regice, each article had a recommended moveset, alternative suggestions, and some basic info. As informative as they were, they were also incredibly entertaining.

I keep saying "were" as these were written back in 2003 around the release of Ruby. As outdated as some of the info might be (none the less, she helped me form my team back in the summer Pearl came out), I encourage you to take a look at some of her musings and maybe you'll see why I love the gal so much.

Some excerpts which don't do her justice, but they're the best I could do in five minutes:

*sigh*...Sneasel is one of those Pokemon you just take one look at and wonder what on Earth it could have done to make the creators of Pokemon hate it so.

"Hey Nintendo, what type is Sneasel?"

"Well PotDC, Sneasel just happens to be a Dark/Ice type."

"Fascinating...what's he lookin' like in the weaknesses department?"

"It would appear most of his weaknesses are to physical types, including a nasty quad-weakness to Fighting type moves."

"Alrighty then, so what've we got in the way of stats, here?"

"Well ma'am, we decided to make Sneasel fast because, let's face it, he LOOKS like a quick little bugger. He has a decent Attack and an average Special Defense. As for Defense and Special Attack, well, we didn't think anyone would mind if we skimped horribly on those...I mean really, who needs Defense and Special Attack on a Pokemon who is a dual elemental type and sports several physical weaknesses, anyway?"

......*shoots Nintendo executive in the face with a bazooka*

Today's Pokemon is Altaria! Now I have to ask: are those clouds actually a part of Altaria's body, or is she just running around nekkid beneath all that precipitation?

Alternate moves...alternate moves...let's see here. It would appear Mantine can now take the Earthquake TM, just like Gyarados (Gyarados was ROBBED, by the way...how come Mantine gets Wing Attack and Gyarados can't even learn Aerial Ace? Have you SEEN all the weird Pokemon that can learn Aerial Ace??

Today's Pokemon is Relicanth! I'd just like to take a moment to note how darn cool Relicanth's name is (since I'm generally unimpressed with the translator's lack of creativity...come on, Seel??).

Luvdisc is the single most idiotic and uninspired character design ever, and if I were on the beach with some hot guy and a Luvdisc swam up to us, I'd most likely boot it over the horizon for daring to invade my personal space with its moronic...uh...moronity as opposed to thanking it for bestowing upon us the gift of eternal romance or whatever.

No Gardevoir? Why no Gardevoir? >.> This person does seem really bias about a lot of stuff too, and I think Pink Reaper blows her out of the water when it comes to moveset makeups.
