Dynamism?
Smash Champion
The Song
This song is about smash and everything related to the game. Players, memories, history, anything. Whatever you want and whatever you feel it should represent.
The Objective
The purpose of this thread is to fill in the blanks. The lyrics will be altered from the given song to fit smash. The cross into the smash song has been started, others must fill in the rest. The notes on how to do that are below.
Note: The song American Pie is only provided to make it easier for others in the writing of the song. It will eventually have its own music to it. It already does actually, it just won't be released until the song is completely filled.
At Genesis
This song will be played at Genesis and performed by Dynamism to the music of American Pie by Don Mclean. The only thing needed is a guitar provided from a local or someone else who can bring one, as there won't be room in the BC carpool to bring one of his own.
Note: Everyone can join in and sing and play their own instruments, just learn the music to American Pie or print off the lyrics for yourself. It's an easy song, Dynamism doesn't even know this song right now but it's just a fun thing anyway.
The Future
This song will be recorded in the distant future for the smash world to hear to the actual music. At Genesis, it will be a test and help the song grow. Hopefully it can be performed there. If not, it will be played elsewhere.
Note: Information on what band(s) will be involved in the recording will not be given until after Genesis at least. Maybe not even until it's released. You'll be surprised who's names will be on it though. And yes, it'll be on an actual album one day.
GUIDELINE
How To Help Write It
This is a song for the smash community, from the smash community. Everything is interchangeable and temporary until the song is complete.
1 - Add words to an existing Verse/Chorus (if there's something better to put in a line the what's said, point it out. There will probably be layers upon layers of possibilities by the time it's complete to decide from. We want every idea that comes to mind)
2 - Add a bran new Verse/Chorus (if you have one of a similar subject or completely unrelated to anything there, spill it and it can probably be put in somewhere. If it's based off another verse, it can be mixed cause it might have better flow in some points. Everything you have is needed)
3 - Change an existing Verse/Chorus (one word or alter the entire thing, say how and it will be done. We'll keep old, new and in the middle copies of everything on the OP and eventually get the perfect version)
4 - Replace an existing Verse/Chorus (simple enough, we'll keep old copies too but have yours in place and see how it fits with the rest. This will be a new song by the end of it probably)
5 - Explain something you'd like done with the song or any ideas you have. (you know, stuff, bits of information, jokes, references, anything)

American Pie
Verse 1
A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
A long, long time ago...
I remember 64
It was a game I played as a noob.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe, they’d be happy for a while.
And I didn’t turn items off
Playing one on one was not enough
Then a sign, said tournament, near you.
But febuary made me shiver
With every paper I’d deliver.
Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn’t take one more step.
But I never changed mains in years
With grabs still my greatest fear
Until I heard of hitstun
I then found it even more fun
I can’t remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride,
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died.
I can’t forget how I cried
When I landed the first 0 - death I tried
But the amazing sequel had arrived
I needed to learn DI
Chorus
So bye-bye, miss american pie.
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
And them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die.
Bye, bye, my CPU DI
I'm gonna DI West coast
'cause they have style
I'd DI EC but they never die
North coast doesn't need DI
North coast doesn't DI
Verse 2
Did you write the book of love,
And do you have faith in God above,
If the Bible tells you so?
Do you believe in rock'n roll,
Can music save your mortal soul,
And can you teach me how to dance real slow?
Well, I know that you're in love with him
`cause I saw you dancin' in the gym.
You both kicked off your shoes.
Man, I dig those rhythm and blues.
I was a lonely teenage broncin buck
With a pink carnation and a pickup truck,
But I knew I was out of luck
The day the music died.
And we started singin'
Verse 3
Now for ten years we've been on our own
And moss grows fat on a rollin' stone,
But that's not how it used to be.
When the jester sang for the king and queen,
In a coat he borrowed from james dean
And a voice that came from you and me,
Oh, and while the king was looking down,
The jester stole his thorny crown.
The courtroom was adjourned;
No verdict was returned.
And while lennon read a book of marx,
The quartet practiced in the park,
And we sang dirges in the dark
The day the music died.
We were singing,
Verse 4
Helter skelter in a summer swelter.
The birds flew off with a fallout shelter,
Eight miles high and falling fast.
It landed foul on the grass.
The players tried for a forward pass,
With the jester on the sidelines in a cast.
Now the half-time air was sweet perfume
While the sergeants played a marching tune.
We all got up to dance,
Oh, but we never got the chance!
`cause the players tried to take the field;
The marching band refused to yield.
Do you recall what was revealed
The day the music died?
We started singing,
Verse 5
Oh, and there we were all in one place,
A generation lost in space
With no time left to start again.
So come on: jack be nimble, jack be quick!
Jack flash sat on a candlestick
Cause fire is the devils only friend.
Oh, and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage.
No angel born in hell
Could break that satans spell.
And as the flames climbed high into the night
To light the sacrificial rite,
I saw satan laughing with delight
The day the music died
He was singing,
Verse 6
I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news,
But she just smiled and turned away.
I went down to the sacred store
Where I'd heard the music years before,
But the man there said the music wouldn't play.
And in the streets: the children screamed,
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.
But not a word was spoken;
The church bells all were broken.
And the three men I admire most:
The father, son, and the holy ghost,
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the music died.
And they were singing,
They were singing,
Unlimited amounts of Verses and Choruses are always welcome. Nothing is set in stone so make your own versions to share 10 times over again. :D
Here are some examples of verses and choruses you can work with or get an idea on how to do it.
Nipples to knees is like making love
Space is shining from the ledge above
Molest the land of dreams, really fast
I'm gonna teach myself how
To wavedash really fast and control the ground
Maybe I can keep a Jiggs from coming down
If gimp2gay ***** you, off stage
Don't complain to me, you know what I'll say
'cause John got hit by a plane
He just DI'd the wrong way
He made us trip, in real life
For seven years, the prince of the pride
Will this new king be like him and survive?
I think, he has good DI
Internet celebs and a costal clash
Scrubs across the board all talkin' trash
Don't miss a tech and cancel, all attacks
Pillars, tippers, chain grabs and so much more
Projectile spamming and planking whores
Don't jump into ****, and maybe you can JV 4
Carry On :D
