The official " Kirby uses items by eating them" thread

Basicly when Kirby grabs an item he puts it in his mouth and swallows. Now he gains the power of whatever he ate. Here are some examples of what I mean...
Fire Flower: He breathes fire
Beam Sword: Ptooey! These kind of items are safer in his soft pink hands.
Super Scope: Chokes out a limited amound of enegy balls (while charging his cheeks get bigger)
Poke Ball: Hucks it right out in the desired direction.

If an enemy hits him too hard he coughs out the item.

Just a thought (it can be easily disproven by a pic of Kirby holding and using and item.

EDIT: When I said "Now he gains the power of whatever he ate" I meant that he can use the item while in his mouth. It's nothing against Kirby hats from items, I just don't think they are very likely (without another delay) because of all that extra programming they would have to do.

even if he can still grab them and stuff... I'd love for him to be able to do this! Maybe he can do both? Or get abilities depending on the item!

I'd rather he use items normally. If anything, he should just get a Hat when Copying an item (like Sword Kirby with Beam Swords, Ice Kirby from Freezie, etc).

On the most part my idea seems more realistic. It would be harder for them to animate kirby with tons of hats but if he eats the item they don't even have to animate the item.

Or how about we keep it nice and consistent and only characters provide abilities? Because getting powers from items seems really gimmicky, and only certain items giving powers would look messy from a design standpoint. Because really, what ability would the Bat or the Banana Peel or the Assist Trophy provide?

My improvement to sucking up items would be that as soon as the item approaches his mouth, Kirby would grab it with his hand to hold. A long distance pick up if you will, and sucking up recovery items would actually be swallowed immediately. Perfect for Party Ball banquets!

I would like to see if Kirby suck up the Fire Flower, that would look awesome blowing flames out. But the sword items, when he sucks it up he should take it out of his mouth and hold the items with his hands. But pure throwing items, shooting items, healing items, and transformation items he should use them by inhaleing them.

Probably he'll just be able to grab stuff.... but i do like the idea of kirby eating recovery items and food items with inhale... so after his final smash he can just use the inhale.

Big, explosive or sword item don't apply. Warp star activates when you touch it so it wont go in his mouth, bob omb a smarh bomb are explosive so he just holds them and how would a cracker launcher fit in his mouth?
