Pikachu got Pichu's gogles, and some have claimed he got Jigglypuff's head band...
"How...he stole that from a girl...I think? Well, we got lazy and did not include the old Pokemon, but we gave you there alternate schemes. Ah...doesn't it make you wish they were playable?"
Thankfully, Skaurai, in my opinion will not have to make that quote. Many are claiming that Pichu and Jigs are out because Pikachu inherrited their alternate schemes. Pichu did get his prized possesion stolen (sending him in a spiraling sequence of events which now have him in a straight jacket making him non-playable). However, Jigglypuff did not get robbed. The headband you see Pikachu wering is the on resembling the Emerald trainers (May and Brandon). Jigs' headband was much more thin. This is one reason that has her still in, another few reasons are:
She was unique (not a clone)
Original character (that did not get replaced by someone practically identical...)
She is not out because she might never be revealed on the Dojo. See, my theory is that only starting characters, save Sonic and Snake, are revealed on the Dojo. Therefore, Jigs might never get on the Dojo (unless Sakurai does the whole Melee Blog format again).
