The Obscure Character Discussion Thread is back!

Over the years of video game history, there have been many, many characters.
Some of these characters have faded into darkness and have have been forgotten or have been looked down upon as something lesser.
These character have gone into obscurity.

If you are wondering why JumpMan is in three categories, it's because he could fit into Mario, DK, and Retro/Historical.

(An attempt to start a discussion)
So since Melee we've always had an obscure historical character, G&W for Melee and ROB for Brawl. If there's one in WiiU and 3DS, who do you think it should be?

Not really historically significant. He was just the mascot of an unsuccessful, Japan-only add on to a system. Though, to be fair, I love him a lot. I personally prefer Daitoryo over any other choices.

Also, thanks for linking my threads in the OP. If anyone wishes to revive the EVR Racer thread, feel free. I just have very little to say about him.

Think about when you go too far with these characters. You should know when to stop it.
I know when I SHOULD stop.
It's when I WANT to stop that gets me in trouble.

This is now my home, where I will discuss characters with myself.
Goodbye RPDT!
I'll occasionally check up on RPDT to see if it is good again someday.

So in case anyone I looking a this,
Who do you think is the most likely historical obscure character for sm4sh

I honestly feel like Daitoryo is likely for a historical rep. I wouldn't give him any more than a 20% chance, though.

That's your opinion and I can respect that.
But I think it all depends how strict Sakurai is being about the "only video game characters" thing.
I hope he stays strict, or else there will madness.
Goku, and spongebob
I actually wouldn't mind spongebob, his games where pretty good.

R.O.B. kinda killed that "rule". Since Daitoryo isn't an anime character or anything, I think it would be fine.

ROB is a game accessory so he is a game character.
And he appeared in Stack-Up

I'm under the impression that R.O.B. himself never actually appeared IN Stack-Up. Can you provide me with a source?

My theory is honestly that the only reason the historical characters that have been in so far are all linked to video games is because that's the part of their history that they wanted to show first. Now that those two are done, it makes sense to include him. It also helps that Napoleon's image is not copyrighted in any way, and that Napoleon himself is certainly not suing him.
