Back, as of yesterday. I might change my name on this site, but I'm not sure about that. Until school starts, I'll be available pretty much whenever. During the year, my general availability will look something like:

-After 4:30 any day.
-Tues. after 1.

Brawl tournament scene is going to spiral down if big tournaments like EVO drop the game, though.

Soul Calibur 4 is out and looks pretty balanced. I haven't jumped into any severe testing, but just from the feel it looks pretty awesome.

EDIT: Adam you could probably head over later today. I bet you Dexter would also want to play you =). I need to brush off all this rust anyways.

I'm willing to try out SC4, I bet plenty of tech people will play it as well. SC2 was very popular anyways because it was multi platform, and with SC4 on PS3 and 360 it will have a good following I'm sure.

Nah, it'll only spiral down if either:

a.) It proves to be a shallow game and the metagame stagnates, or...
b.) If people expect it to spiral down and abandon it, thus fulfulling that prophecy.

Ah.. so someone finally made another Lubbock thread. I saw the old one : /

I've been looking for some brawl tournaments to go to for quite a while now, but never really had the time to travel anywhere or give up enough time to do so. (Never been to a tournament either though >_>)

Since.. i think its safe to assume all of you go to tech, i've got a question. Do you hold tournaments on the campus itself? Because i've heard of a few melee ones being there before. If they are on campus, can people that aren't students attend them?

Also, do any of you know of places relatively close or within the city limits that hold tournaments?

Hey Raiken, I've never seen you post here before. Lubbock had a pretty good tournament scene but then the majority of the competitive players just left for Dallas.

Everyone goes to tech, except for me =). Felix will probably hold some tournaments and yes they will probably be at tech. All the places that hold tournaments in Lubbock have shut down (Lanforce, The Arena, etc.) and your best shot is someone holding a household tournament. I used to run a lot of tournaments, but I'm taking a break from competitive gaming for a while.

You should come over here and Brawl sometime =D. Sometimes people will randomly all be at my house and we will have a little brawl fest.

Anyone can show up to these tournaments, Raiken.

I could work with Fridays or Saturdays, but I think Saturdays will pull better turnouts. I'd suggest three weeks from this coming Saturday so we can create the necessary publicity and give advance notice.

Next time I come to your house, Ryan, I'll pick up my controller. I'm pretty sure I left it there.

Felix: Even if we don't have a date down, you can still post the rules, like the stage details, the time limit, etc.

What's this a Lubbock thread without me in it!?! Well I guess technically I don't count as Lubbock personnel anymore. Hope everyone has fun this semester. Make sure you don't let Felix get away with banning stuff for no reason. He likes to do that. I'll come up to visit atleast one weekend to get away from this hum drum real world work crap. Hm, they still haven't pinned down a location, and that's the least of my worries regarding that. I hope they have a decent ruleset. If it's anything like the Gamestop tournament, I'm sure I'll have something better to do with my night.

Anyways, MGC has great tournaments! I think I should still be on their top friends on myspace, lol! They give out free energy drinks, burgers, and when I won the tourament in Dallas I got a free year supply of games, movies, etc from Netflix. Too bad I was a ******* and I never used the coupon!
