He pretty much does both in Dawn of the Dragon. Makes some interesting cinematic.

The first three were the only Spyro games. I was slightly interested in Dawn of the Dragon several months ago, but lost interest, and upon release, never got around to trying the game.

Anyway, Spyro can fly and flame nowdays, and has a girlfriend that you can control.

The storyline is brilliance. Seriously, Wonderfull ending.

Spire, I would play. Also, if you liked the original 3, Try Spyro a hero's tail.
