The Ledgedash/Ledgehop uair

Hi fellow marth mains. How is it that people can jump and wavedash from the ledge and also instantly upair from it? I know that the ledgestall involves hitting down and x/y almost at the same time. Does this utilize that mechanic?

Yes it involves jumping right away after you get off the edge. You can upair while moving towards the stage and either autocancel or l-cancel it. Or you can regrab the ledge which requires very fast input.
