The Leader of Star Wolf: Wolf O' Donnell
This is the SECOND analysis in my character analyses series. Others include:
1. The Mighty Axe: Hector (Fire Emblem)
Who is Wolf O' Donnell?
Who is Wolf, you ask? He is Fox McCloud's rival, of course! You may have seen him in the Super Smash Bros. Melee opening. He is the commander of Star Wolf, Star Fox's rival team... Go figure. In Star Fox: Assault, Wolf doesn't really seem much like an enemy, but more as a "friendly-rival". He says after saving Fox from a certain demise, "I only saved you to kill you myself".
Why should Wolf be in Brawl?
Like any fighting game, there has to be some bad guys in the character roster. It would also contribute to Star Fox's slowly growing Smash bros. roster.
What would Wolf be like in Brawl?
1. Opposite of Fox - Like most rivals, they're usually the opposites of each other. Fox would be fast while Wolf would be on the slower side. Fox doens't pack much of a punch, but Wolf would be a more capable fighter.
2. Huge Arsenal - Wolf's special moves would consist of weapons from his large arsenal of weapons.
3. Medium-Weight - Wolf, unlike Fox, actually has some girth to him. While not much, he is still heavier than Fox.
Overall Status - All-Around Fighter
Okay, now on to some stats and a movelist...
Stats
Power - 3.5/5
Range - 3/5
Knock Back - 2.5/5
Speed - 2.5/5
Attacking Speed - 3/5
Jumping - 3/5
Height - Medium
Weight - Medium
Normal Attacks
A, A, A, A - Wolf performs two jabs, a spinning back side kick finishing off with an elbow thrust.
Dash A - Wolf slides on the ground, knocking enemies off their feet.
Strong A (Side) - A quick roundhouse kick.
Strong A (Down) - A tail sweep.
Strong A (Up) - A spinning uppercut.
Smash A (Side) - A jump spinning back kick followed by a forward shuffling kick.
Smash A (Down) - Wolf performs a split kick.
Smash A (Up) - Wolf performs a back flipping kick.
Aerial Attacks
A - Wolf performs a double kick.
Smash A (Front) - A drill kick forwards.
Smash A (Back) - A drill kick backwards.
Smash A (Down) - A drill kick downwards.
Smash A (Up) - Wolf flips forward, striking enemies with his tail.
Special Attacks
B: Blaster Rifle - Instead of a standard Blaster Pistol like Falco or Fox, Wolf pulls out a Blaster Rifle. Pressing B once will cause 6 rapidly fired shots to go forward. Continuously pressing B will do this continuously, with brief pauses in between every 6 shots.
Smash B: Sniper Rifle - Wolf pulls out a Sniper Rifle, which shoots out blaster lasers, not bullets
. When the Sniper is out, use the control stick to aim along a red aiming line that extends out of the barrel of the Sniper. Press B once to take out the gun, and then press B again to fire an insanely fast laser that inflicts huge damage. Although this is the case, this laser is easy to dodge (provided that there is a red aiming line that your opponents can avoid), but cannot be reflected. After one shot, there is a 2 second lag time before the player can cancel out of it or shoot again. Press A, R or L to cancel out of the Blast Sniper.
Down B: Reflector - Wolf takes out his reflector. This shield will reflect all projectile attacks. Also, if this attack is used right when you come in contact with an enemy, they will be shot back slightly.
Up B: Wolf Launcher - Similar to Fire Fox/Bird, except that blue flames will emit from Wolf. Also, this attack has two parts. The initial part is an immediate launch upwards (you can't control this), and after that, use the control stick to direct the second launch.
Final Smash: Wolfen Assault - Wolf jumps onto his Wolfen and flies off the screen. A message box then pops up and Wolf says, "Star Wolf, let's finish off these chumps!" Then, Wolf along with 3 other Wolfens fly on the screen, flying into players and shooting them with lasers.
Taunt - Wolf crosses his arms and, with a scornful look on his face, taunts the enemy with a "humph!".
Hope you enjoyed this analysis
Thanks
