The Last Third Party Franchise

so far the third party franchises are:

sonic the hedgehog (sega)
metal gear solid (konami)

sakurai originally posted on the japanese brawl site notes that he would consider 1 or 2 more third party franchises to represent after snake
this means that there may be one more third party involved with brawl

a while back ..before sonic was released ..maybe in november ..a commonly trusted and proven again and again insider named surfergirl released a list of information for upcoming titles

a lot of her november post has already become apparent to be true (ie. SF4 info)
and if you are too lazy to click the link, one of the highlights of her "insider info" is that capcom is very likely to have a character in brawl (her guess is megaman but we've already heard from inafune that megaman had not yet been included in his Q&A for upcoming capcom title bionic commando)

so ..the next major capcom franchise other than megaman that comes to my mind would either be street fighter or resident evil ..which both have had a part on a nintendo console

i don't think that street fighter would be a very good franchise to represent because the entire franchise is built upon fighting games
..however resident evil is becoming much more popular on the wii with titles like resident evil: umbrella chronicles and resident evil 4 wii edition

..and it's not that i think that leon would be the best choice (..megaman ftw) ..and i know that IMDB is not a very credible source for info ..but these are just things that i've noticed and have had floating around in my head since i have seen them

the thing that bothers me is that if leon is going to be in brawl ..what would they do with him? ..he mostly uses knives and guns ..but so does snake ..and it didn't stop him from making the list ..would sakurai really do the same thing with snake over again with leon?

edit: ..i don't know anything about bionic commando ..but the creators of the site also hinted at an upcoming news "megaton bomb" and one of the possible options is that a guy named Nathan Spencer i would assume from bionic commando would appear in brawl

It says could happen but not will happen. Also if Leon gets in he's most definitely gonna be a clone. =O If Megaman doesn't get in, then Bomberman should take the spot IMO. =D Oh yeah, and Capcom has done things without asking permission from Inafune b4. Remember MMX6? xD

oh yeah ..good call ..you're right about that ..maybe there is hope for megaman ..and inafune did seem interested in including megaman in brawl ..maybe nintendo worked him in early on and just had not asked for permission to use him in brawl before the bionic commando blog

rare: umm ..banjo/kazooie? ..i don't think rare would do much with since it's owned by microsoft now

i would be happy with geno or megaman making it in ..i can't get too excited for bomberman though ..i'm sure he'd fit in fine though

I really want Pacman. But I don't think his chances are high compared to the other to. Then again Megman as himself has not had a good relationship with Nintendo. Snake was in because thingy begged. Sonic's in while having a relationship with Nintendo. Pac-man has a relationship. And no clue about Bomberman. O.O

Also take note that Pacman has been crossed over into Mario Kart Arcade GP series before thanks to Namco. =] Plus Hudson and the Mario Party series give Bomberman some more chance. =P

As far as Bomberman goes, he was in some great games for the N64 (Hero!). I am hoping for Megaman. However, I would be ok with Bomberman. I personally think Pac-Man would be a very boring character in Brawl. What does he really do besides eat dots?

Starfox has never been in a Rare game...DK was created by Nintendo years before DKC and DK64.

the last third party company will either be square(some FF char or sora) or capcom(megaman or maybe ryu)

BTW, Geno will be counted as first party in the game, so he doesnt count as a square rep.

Wasn't....Treasures third party? Oh, and on the Square Enix thing don't forget about the possibility of Sora. He was on the GBA. Also there is Ubisoft which Rayman could represent... There are actually quite a lot of options for 3rd party characters. Though I think the ultimate "WTF how did he get in!?!?!?" character would be Zero. lol It would be a total slap in the face to Megaman fans. It's kinda scary knowing he had a decently popular series on the GBA giving him a chance, rather like a .01% chance but chance non-the less. Personally I would crack up because IF it did happen I know there would be threads saying something like "Concerning Brawl, Megaman Robbed?" or "Umm.. Who seen this one coming O_o??" "More WTF than Game and Watch?"

Neither Sora nor Zero deserve this spot. Sora doesn't have the seniority other characters have and Zero just...no...he would make an awesome AT though (vision of X1 first stage, after you lose to Vile).

Edit: I really don't know who he is owned by actually...I tried to look it up on wikipedia but it just says Kingdom Hearts was a collaboration of Square Enix and Disney...It does say the person who created him and that he worked on Final Fantasy games which are made by Square Enix...but I don't really know.
