It sounds offensive but I'm sure you will agree with me. In japan all the tournaments are free so it makes people use whoever they like instead of the top tiers. As such all the characters get representation and their meta is not dominated by 8 or so characters, and the bad characters have good players. Here in u.s using a low tier makes you more likely to lose ur $ so people don't get the many tournaments of practice for their low tier mains like the japanese do. Because of sakurai looking at japanese results logically more than U.S he doesn't see how inbalanced it is, so we don't get sheik nerfs or samus/doc/ganon buffs or mario usmash nerf or cloud nerf.

I'm not kidding guys, if you look at tournament videos of american tournaments its all sheik ness mario zss cloud but if you look at japanese you see even the worst characters

Don't worry, the japanese also have their assortment of characters that never get played.

As much fun as it would be if Japan was a magical place full of Zeldas, Jigglypuffs, and Miis, it turns out they play the same guys as everyone else.

The only reason I'd see Japaneses causing imbalances is because their Tier Lists are based off results only, and there are like a billion of elements causing a result (experience or lack of, individual skill, etc).

Like, they see DuckHunt as a high tier because of Brood's results.
