Gameplay

- A smash cancelling system. The controls won't be too complex for it *cough*streetfighteriv*cough*. If you're charging a smash attack, press the shield button to abort the Smash. It would look similar to cancelling DK's Punch, Samus' Beam, Shiek's Needles, ect.

- No more edge-hogging. Multiple people can grab ledges. It annoys me to see people get a kill via edge-hogging, so wimpy IMO.

- More hitstun, so juggling/combos can be done.

- No grab-locks. That was just cheap...

- (I know it's not going to have it it) No tripping.

- CPUs who knows what a FREE FOR ALL is.

- Break the Targets being unique to every character, Board the Platforms return, and (maybe) Homerun Contest comes back.

- (I'd prefer the Final Smashes to be removed, but I know it's not.) Make them more fun to use (I'm not sure how to explain that)

- CHARACTER BALANCING! I'm looking at you Meta-Knight, (Brawl) Pikachu, (Brawl) Zelda and Olimar.

Gameplay Dream

- "Battle of the Universes": A mode where you choose a character, and venture through game universes only to find out that you must fight Master and Crazy Hand at the end. Difficulties Normal or Higher will face a secret boss after the hands.

Roster and Stages

- Whatever the dev team does is fine by me.

Online

- Smooth, non-error ridden gameplay.

- Different lobbies for actual fighters and annoying non-fighters/teammates. The lobby leader can kick players (in case there's a taunt party in their lobby)

- No ranking system. Points and leaderboards cause people to cheat (even more).

I think that's all my wants.

Hmm, I have to say I'd want Smash 4 to be a proverbial black hole of gameplay. Namely, I'd like to be able to customize a lot of things, and it would be even better to have tons of options in each aspect of customization.
Above all, though, I would like to have a competitively balanced game, but I would also like the new Smash to bring a new twist on the gameplay. My gameplay suggestion was tag battles, but I'm unsure of how that would work.

More random and unforesightable classic mode and all star mode.
An andventure mode with multiple paths and ramdomly generated stages.
A fu king better costum stage generator.
A party mode.

DREAM FOR:

- Character balance
- Custom Rules remember what you last used
- Good online play
- Adventure Mode is better than Melee's
- Event Mode with variety of Melee and adjustable difficulty of Brawl
- Mechanics: C-stick is usable in single-player, can grab ledges from behind, cannot attack out of hitstun, Brawl's buffer
- Diversify characters (especially Ganondorf)

Smash4 doesn't have to be that much faster than brawl to me. What I care about the most is that offensive play styles will be more effective and rewarding then defensive ones. But sure, an increase in speed and less "floaty" physics would be nice to. I prefer melee over brawl personally, but I would by no means call melee's speed perfect, so not melee fast, but something in between.

The confirmed thing I am most psyched about is the balance aspect. Very reassuring to see that Sakurai did the balance alone in every previosu game (explains alot :p). But this time around he will have a complete experienced team for it!



Edit: Oh and lets not forget: the online service! oh please lord let it be good (and let us create tournaments online). Was so hyped about online for brawl. Played like 3 games, then never again. I don't think my heart could take such a dissapointment again :(

Dream Smash Bros.

- Extensive story mode with beautiful cutscenes and plenty of character interaction worthy of a legendary crossover.
- Professor Layton.
- Almost no neutral stages, because Smash is about the spectacularity and not the tourneyfaggity.
- RIDLEY.
- Tons of content and music.
- Balance over patches so they can focus on what matters in the initial development cycle.
- Make all Final Smashes extremely powerful, instead of downplaying them all.
- Have crossover stages.
- Sonic returning.
- Break the Targets, Board the Platforms and Race to the Finish return (They were like the only good thing about Melee)
- No glitchy mechanics.
- Alternate costumes.
- A better Animal Crossing stage.
- All previous stages return.
- Limited edition with figurine and soundtrack.
- Chrom and Dillon
- Removal of chaingrabs
- Removal of edgeguarding.
- Stage Builder with things from the games.
- Epic bosses like legendary Pokemon, Dr. Robotnik, Dr. Wily, etc.
- Locations from the games in the story mode.
- Better online, because some of us don't have a lot of Smasher friends (STORY IS IMPORTANT!)
- Stage from the Metroid Prime series.

Unfortunately, most of that is not going to happen because Sakurai is too busy whining about Youtube and how little development time he has.

Gameplay & Balance > Everything Else.

I done said it before.
You know, I used to agree with this statement for the longest time. Then I thought of Unreal Tournament 2004, arguably the last game before the decline of hardcore shooters.
Then I thought 'gameplay' far too vague, so I wish to refine it further, and I believe this to be paramount to everything, even balance ever so slightly.
Better gameplay I specify as more depth and a very high skill ceiling. That's what is ideal.

Sakurai's words so expect brawl 2.0 my ideal gameplay would be like melee's expect a bit more casual friendly so people can not have excuses why they suck.

Sakurai's words say nothing of the sort. In fact, I heard that Sakurai hates making sequels too similar to the original, explaining a lot of Brawl. Also, people will never not have excuses for why they suck.

- Online that doesn't lag and gives you the choice to play itemless

- A tactic akin to Wavedashing so characters with poor ground mobility (i.e. Melee Luigi) have another option for those skilled enough

- Actually make Jigglypuff good again




Edit: Did I mention Jigglypuff needs to be unnerfed?

It's more a stage idea than a want, but I do want a Gamepad stage, akin to Pictochat or Flat Zone where the Gamepad user can play a VC game within SSB4 as the background for the stage, and the enemies and characters in the game interact with the fight.

I've floated the idea on Miiverse with positive reception.
