I've noticed a lot of hate towards the two GCN era Star Fox games lately, especially with Star Fox U on the horizon. Throughout the years I've seen opinions on these two games fluctuate. When Adventures came out, it was widely disliked primarily for being such a departure from Star Fox 64, while Sunshine and Wind Waker drew similar ire for being different from Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time. Assault later tried to remedy this by playing like an evolution of 64, but still got a mixed reception.
Fast forward to the Wii era. At this point, people have warmed up to Wind Waker and Mario Sunshine (either that or everyone who was butthurt over the changes found something else to complain about, likely a combination of both). On the Star Fox front, some people began accepting Adventures as its own thing while Command replaced Assault as the whipping boy of the series, giving people who liked the game a chance to voice their opinion without being drowned out by the sea of upset fans that were hoping for something closer to Star Fox 64.
So, now that we're done with the history lesson, I'm going to give my personal input. I never had an N64 as a kid, and my first Nintendo console was a GameCube. This makes Star Fox Adventures my first experience with the series. I later played Assault, which is easily my favorite Star Fox game. I didn't get a chance to play 64 until years later.
Anyway, this thread is for those of us who actually liked the Star Fox games from the 2000s. Share you memories, your opinions and show your appreciation!
