Would you say Brawl is the last of the series? As much as I love Smash Bros.'s replay value, I'm sure the idea would get tedious after a while.

I think yes, but this series is really populer and fighting games are known to keep having sequals, if games like Tekken and Dead or Alive can keep going on why not super smash bros, hopefully the next one will be portable.

Sakurai has said himself, that it is the final installment, I'm almost positive it's in one of the Iwata Asks.

its probably the last one, if its not, all after this one wont come close to being as good as the first 3, because Sakurai wont be involved

I apologize for keeping this thread going.
But i found what i was talking about, i remembered incorrectly since he doesn't say it is definitely the last one.
"Well, as I discussed earlier, a fundamental idea at the start of development was that this would be the last Smash Bros. title, and that, ultimately, there would be few opportunities for Nintendo characters and major, well-known characters to gather in the same place. "

He means that they always start Smash projects with the idea in mind that it will be the last game in the series, so they can make it as great as it can be at the time. He didn't say that this installment would be the last, specifically.

I don't think it'll surpass Melee though. It has all the features, but Melee just has "it". We'll just have to see though. Could a new side to the leaf

I don't see how you can say that without even having played the game at all. But anyway, in about a month we'll see what it's all about.

what do you mean, 'it'? how can melee possibly be better than Brawl? yes, i know none of us know what Brawl is really about yet, but come on, with the sheer number of features theyve packed into it, Brawl is surely going to surpass Melee, easily.

It's happened with many games any movies. TimeSplitters 3 and Spiderman 3 are some to name. They have it all, but just aren't better than their predecessors.

Okay, maybe Spiderman 3 didn't have it all. But do you see my point?

Now, let's get back on topic. We can discuss this in another thread.

Smash Ball. Like it or not?

Didn't you already create a topic that's supposed to discuss exactly that?
