Need help polishing up your falco? Post your video(s) here!

I figured that this would be useful thread to make for all of the new eager to learn falcos out there.

Are you SHFF lasering too much? Are you not doing it enough? Do your combos need work? Is your timing with his Dspike a little early or too late? Someone im sure would not mind helping you out!

Happy posting!

0:03 Why didn't you shine?
0:11 You've rolled 5 times by now.
0:15 Your lasers are way too slow/high.
0:48 Your roll count is around 20.
1:19 I saw a wavedash, why don't you do it more?
1:28 You've used fair a lot. Try to capitalize on opponents mistakes.
1:35 You didn't l-cancel > shine again..
1:49 You've missed 10 fsmashes. Normally you'd be punished severally.
2:00 You should've sweet spotted firebird.
2:09 You edge guarded well the first time, why not the 2nd?
2:24 You got punished for not l-canceling.
3:04 You should've kept your momentum even after missing your fsmash, Ness failed to punish you.

In general, increase tech skill.

That's a vid id really like help on.. plus.. ive got a few other vids.. if u can see at least another one or two thatd be great ty.
Your too slow, too many rolls, not fast enough out of shines (jc'n the shines), your approach needs work, shhfl a lot more, dont jump fron the edge - use double lasers or wavedash on insted. Lasers need a lot of work aswell.
Basically you just need to get faster, and get your tech skill down, Mainy shffls. Practice shine combos aswell. Try using the lasers for approach.
Against marths lasers help a lot.
Got this from the first stock...so excuse me if i missed anything.

Crusher you were too offensive. Run away and rshl, which you were doing a bit. Try and let them approach sometimes, and watch out for the grabs. Dont stand around doing nothing or waiting in your shield, DD around, wavedash back and forth, shl spam. But overall pretty good falco. Oh and nice avartar :p

Don't know how credible my advice is...am not too good myself. Hope i helped a little though.

0:09 Practice dair > shine a little more. Turn around shine is a common mistake.
0:13 Why the CC and poor spacing?
0:17 Firing way too close to the ledge.
0:33 First jump from ledge, okay. 2nd one, no. Ledge hop double laser.
0:46 Fast Fall more often. Okay, almost always..
0:58 You roll a lot to reset tempo, change this with perhaps lasers.
1:24 Very risky doing an fsmash on an opponent with such low damage.
1:30 You missed a tech twice.
1:34 No utilt?
2:02 No full jump lasers?
2:28 Never roll back and forth.
2:39 Shield grab?
3:23 Edge guard more aggresively; he's at high damage.

Work on approaches a lot more. Also watch for how you can use your shield/spacing better.

0:13 Why the full jump without fast fall?
0:37 Interesting and risky..
0:41 If you plan on dthrow and you know they'll tech, tech chase with lasers and another grab.
1:17 You could've made that back above the stage with phantasm.
1:24 You missed the fastfall, which stopped your combo.
2:07 You have a dryspell on offensive. RSHL to gain back tempo.

Not much left to say.. you just need more overall practice/application. Perfect shuffling, you can't do it very well.

(sorry for double post)

Falcology-You should never use the fire recovery to recover back to the stage unless you are below the stage and need to come up...the speed flash move is a lot more efficent and hard to hit.

experiment and mix up your ledge recovery moves...hit L and do a roll, attack back onto the ledge, get up.. fall.. jump up and speed flash back onto the stage...mix it up!

You need to stop relying on that Dair spike from Falcos normal jump, SH it more!...it well help set you up for his F smash.

marth shieldgrabbed you like 20 times because he knew you were going to do that.

Death-Stop rolling so much....otherwise you could be really good. It seems like you also do not have full control over Falco.

Warmup in your friendlies by using Fox...he is harder to controller...when you go to falco it will be much easier to tech, control, SH, etc. I always warmup with fox before using my falco. (then i move to marth.)

Incorrect. Often times you need to sweet spot the edge via fire to avoid edgeguards. Also, you'll see pro Falcos time to time fire onto the stage just to mix things up.

hmm really? I often have bad luck with it... i hate the birds recovery!
Vro's right. It'll get to predicatble if you always use the illusion to go back, it's easy too ledgehog/guard against it...always mix things up.

simplicityho - short hop

Death - you definetly need to shine more. And instead of running attacking, rolling back and repeating that attack, wadevdash back shl, or spotdodge or shield. You definetly need to stop rolling so much.

0.09 you should have shined...after i realised that i saw how much you were dtilting and ftilting. Insted of doing them so much shine. Get into the habbit of using shines so whenever your going to do a dtilt/ftilt...shine insted they open up massive combos.
Stop rolling so much. You always rolled backwards then wavedashed to the edge of the stage then approached with laser laser to a ftilt/dtilt or fsmash. Mix up your approach and stop rolling. There's a lot more ytou could do like - Shield let the marth hit you with his fsmash wavedash forward out of the shield and then fsmash/dsmash.

Lorcl678: You're Falco is really strong. You need to be more weary of how you use your double jump, as often you'll get knocked off and with Falco's poor recovery, you'll need it. Otherwise I can't say much else.
