The Dair

_____I understand the usefulness of the waveshine. I understand SHHFLing and all its steps..

So, when you are SHHFLing the Dair -> shine, I was wondering... Why FF? Don't you get more hits and more SS AND more duration if you don't? Is it necissary at all?

A skilled opponent can DI out of the 6 hits the un-FFed dair delivers. They can go move a bit away so the shine doesn't hit, and potentially put an end to your combo.

If you FF the dair, it goes from 6 hits to 3, meaning there is less time for your opponent to react using DI. It also makes things a whole lot smoother.

For the purposes of learning the waveshine and all its technical aspects, I'd suggest FFing it for now.
You can probably rest assured that the people you play regularly do not know how to DI the dair anyways. So its merely a matter of preference until you reach higher levels of play.
