Recently I've been writing a lot, and I wanted to get some opinions on it, and I decided to start here. I'll post more of them if people are interested.
The dead widow's cat
is waiting in the kitchen for his breakfast, but nobody will come. He will die like her. He will die alone.
The cat curls up in a ball,
hoping that she will come. In the back of his mind, he knows. But he doesn't listen. He keeps hoping.
This house is all that he has known,
and it's empty for the first time in his life. Physically he's fine, but his heart is as empty as his stomach after a few hours.
He has spent the entire day waiting
for his only friend. She hasn't come, but he still has memories of her to accompany him. He lies down on the bed that he has always slept in for his life, but this time nobody is there to protect him. There is no warm, loving hand to comfort him. His only companion is bitter silence.
The clock by the side of the bed.
"Tick... tock... tick... tock..." How much time does he have left? Every second is like an eternity. He would cry, but he can't.
He spreads himself out on the bed,
surrendering to the void.
He dies like she did. He dies alone.
