Tomorrow is the last day to donate to The Bigger Balc! The Bigger Balc, featuring Project M and Melee, is the “sequel” to The Balcony’s hugely successful tournament “The Big Balc” that took place back in May, and their donation drive, which has been quite successful in its run, ends tomorrow. There are still goals to be met, however: As of now, they’re still a ways from their $4,000 goal.
With the money they’ve received, they’ve been able to secure flights for every player whom they wanted to fly out to the event. These players include Juan “Hungrybox” Debiedma, Edgard “n0ne” Shelby, Antoine “Anther” Sledge Kyle “Switch” Carlon, Alex “Hyperflame” Mireles, Marshall “Marshall” Stock, Tyler “Fuzz” Graves, Malachi, and Noughrilla. The money going towards the pot will also be evenly distributed to both the Project M and Melee events, as the TOs want to pay equal attention to each community.
Although they have no more players to fund, the event still needs to reach its main goal of $4,000. They’ve also set incentives for the $3,000 and $4,000 milestones: If they reach $3,000, they will raffle off one free flight to the event for those who donated. If they reach $4,000, they’ll use the extra money to provide a much better stream experience for those at home. In addition, they’ll hold another raffle that includes art, controllers, shirts and several items signed by top players during the event.
If you donate to the fundraiser, there are several rewards to claim depending on how much you contribute. Some of these rewards include buttons, the chance to name one of the Smash at the Balcony weekly tournaments, your own choice of a topic or interviewee for The Balcony’s podcast “Balc Cast”, a custom sketch or digital art piece by The Balcony’s own Zesty or anything you want drawn in MS Paint by a very passionate player.
More details for the event will be released tomorrow night on The Balcony’s stream, as the new year begins at midnight.
If you’d like to donate to the event, you can do so here.
