The best way for dealing with late attendees?

Hi All,

I've been starting to host tournaments in my local area lately, and I was wondering how you guys personally deal with late attendees and why you do it the way you do. Obviously everyone feels different, but I think it'd be interesting to see what other people think.

Thanks!

I give them a chance. If they arrive like 10 minutes late I'll still let them play. But if they are 30 minutes late then I don't let them in.

Let them in if you're still in round 1. If you're in round 2 start them in the loser's bracket.

I only let late attendees in if they call ahead and tell me they're going to be late.
Then, if they arrive after all of R1 is done, I DQ them into losers.
If they manage to be so late that Losers R1 is also done, which I normally start after Winners R3, then I DQ them from losers as well.

Doing it this way allows people to be late, but punishes those who are so late that they disrupt the flow of the event.

Just an idea, but if it is an event that is pay-to-play you could always charge a late fee as well depending on how late they may be.
