The Battletoads Battle it Out!!!

While banjo/kazooie would be excellent candidates for smash ultimate as reps for rare and microsoft, I just think the battletoads are a PERFECT FIT for super smash bros. ultimate since they come from one of the most beloved beat em ups ever made on a game console and their long time history with nintendo. You look at them and can see that fighting is what they do best, they come from a beat em up so their moveset shouldn't be too hard to come up with. Rash can be a stand alone character while zits and pimple can be echo fighters or alt skins ala olimar/alph, female wii fit trainer/male wii fit trainer. They can use various moves from their games like making their fist grow huge and bashing opponents into the ground or off stage and the "BIG BAD BOOT" would make for a perfect up smash. Their specials can also involve becoming a wrecking ball and smashing unaware opponents into olbivion, ah the many possibilities. This would be pretty hype since we have a new battletoads game coming soon for xbox1x sometime in 2019. Well, I wanna hear all of your thoughts and ideas on this. 1) Rights disaster 2) last game was in 1994
Now you may think this may be the same with banjo, but
1) Xbox is on board 2) Highly requested 3) newest game was in 2008, 10 years ago, better than 24.
plus N&B was released on XBO and was in Rare Replay, so,

Ok. 1. How in what way would getting the rights to them be a desaster? Sakurai got the rights to snake, sonic, cloud, mega man and other third parties right? So it wouldn't be that much of a problem to convince both rare and microsoft to allow both nintendo and sakurai to use them and/or banjo/kazooie in ultimate. It's called negotiating. Ever heard of it?

2. So? What's your point? Geno's last game was in 1996 but alot of people still want him in ultimate because of fan demand right? And yes, microsoft and rare are open to idea of adding banjo/kazooie in smash, but I don't think that having the battletoads would prevent their inclusion either. I really don't see why we can't have both? And I know that banjo/kazooie are highly requested, so is geno like just mentioned.

3. Though it's true they haven't had a game since their last game on Snes in early 1994, of coarse you DO realize that rash has made a cameo appearence in the new killer instinct game on xbox one which debuted in 2013 right? Rash was one of the characters from that game series to ever appear as a guest character in an actual fighting game, so I think that should score him brownie points guest character status for smash ultimate, and the battletoads series began on the NES/Snes platforms.

Overall, even though it's VERY likely that banjo/kazooie will get in over them, I'm just giving my opinion and saying they would make awesome guest third party inclusions for smash ultimate. But I'm not hating on banjo/kazooie either, I think they would be awseome to have as characters in the game too. I would honestly prefer them and the brawler toad tribe over steve from minecraft anyday.

I had already made a support thread for these guys but it got almost no replies. If the leak is true and Banjo gets in, I think they may have a small chance for DLC since there would already be a Microsoft/RARE rep. I would love them to get in but, if not, maybe I can mod them over Captain Falcon again like I made for Brawl.

That's always an option. Unless we get a fighter ballot for ultimate just like we did for smash 4 3ds/Wii U

What i'm saying, is that sakurai literally asked the fans who they wanted to be in ultimate.
All these leaked characters like K. Rool, Geno, Isaac, Chorus Kids, and Banjo, were all very highly requested, and probably ranked high in the ballot, but that's just my opinion

K. Rool has already been officially confirmed. Geno, Isaac, Chorus Kids, and Banjo-Kazooie have not yet been confirmed. There is the Banner leak, but there is a chance it could be fake, so we will have to wait until the next Direct to find out whether or not if they are in or another character that wasn't in the Banner leak get's confirmed and deconfirms the Banner leak. If we see one of them and their render on the banner matches up with one of the renders in the leak, then it is legit.

not sure why this thread got such a negative response. battletoads games are awesome & beat em up is really the predecessor to fighting games. plus they have a great cartoonish moveset for smash.

i would love to see one of battletoads or double dragon in this game -- something to represent the beat em up side scrollers

While their chances aren't high they aren't something out of the realm of possibility. Microsoft has been pushing them recently by having Rash added to KI as a guest character, so they're cross promoting them among their own franchises. Banjo being announced, though, hurts their chances as they become the Microsoft/Rare rep. They'd have more than enough potential to make a move set out of. Heck, KI did an amazing job of making a move set for them and most could just be copied over if they really wanted to.

The toads also having a new game coming out would only help their chances, but again, Banjor sort of 'stole' the slot from them. If a second fighter pass happens then they MIGHT have a better chance? Depends on if Nintendo plans on doing more third party or if a second season would be all first party that time around.

I'm all for the 'Toads making it into Smash. I think their exaggerated body morphing fighting style would fit great into Smash's gameplay.

Just don't use the designs from the new game that's coming out. Those look horrible.
