The Aptera

The Aptera is a new, radically aerodynamic all electric car that is coming out around 2010. It's my favorite, and I mean by far, car that I've ever seen. I have never seen a car with a design like this before (bird-like), and I am definitely getting one once they come out. Here is a link for some pictures: Aptera Pictures

Of course, there are other cars out there like this. There's the Tesla, the Wave, The Leaf, and many others. What do you predict will happen next with eco-efficient automakers? Do you prefer one at the moment? Or are you someone who really doesn't care and just wants to get from Point A to Point B? I'm curious.

Besides, it doesn't look like much for safety. Or space. Or comfort. Anything, really.

Lol. It is a very nice design. It costs around $25,000 to $40,000, depending on options, extras, and etc. Right now it's only available for pre-order in California, but once the company gets completely ready, they will spread to other states.

Each to his own when it comes to the design, I guess. I've heard others call it ugly as well. But just as many call it unique and amazing, so it's probably 50/50. It has gone through numerous computer simulated tests for safety, and they will not release it until they crash test it for real. It actually has a lot of space on the inside, despite how it looks on the outside. They are currently remodeling it as well- they're making it a bit larger and easier to get into than the initial prototype, which is what the pictures are.

It's being redesigned as we speak... it's why they didn't release it this year. They decided to push it back to get feedback from their fans about how the Aptera feels to them and then redesign it based on that.

Lol. Well, if you like it, then you can consider looking more into it. ;p It initially has 300mpg when you first get it, but after a while of driving it, it goes down to about 120ish. So if you're an mpg guy, then this is a car you could consider. Not to mention because of its aerodynamics, it runs on about 50% less energy than other cars.
