These arcade classics are some of the best games of the early '80s. But which is better? And if Tempest is Space Invaders and Gyruss is Galaga, what's Galaxian?
If you haven't played them, Tempest is available for free on IGN and Gyruss is five bucks on Xbox Live Arcade. (If you want a fair comparison, do NOT play the NES version unless you're digging out your Atari Jaguar for some Tempest 2000. The NES version of Gyruss got the Zero Mission treatment -- the exact opposite of the unreleased Tempest for the 2600.)
