Does anyone else think that you unlock characters in subspace by playing the harder levels instead of just going through quickly and beating (for example) classic on very easy? sakurai said the rewards were greater for harder levels and that that was part of the fun. so i think you'll have to play hard, very hard, or intense to unlock someone who's unlockable via playing subspace.

Discuss what you think.

Most everyone picked this up, even before the Subspace update. They did it in Smash 64, which made Ness a Pain in the *** to get if you wasnt' very good. Which, I wasn't when I First tried.

Off topic, when first unlocking Ness in 64, I thought that you had to play through Normal without losing a stock - it was a ***** to do, but I eventually did it, and then my friend was like "Oh, you have to beat it without losing all of your stocks". I was like >:(.

On topic, I'm not so sure. If Intense is as difficult as Very Hard on Melee, then it wouldn't be fair for less experienced players to have to get their ***** whooped. Although, they might have characters unlocked at Normal difficulty, similar to Ness in 64.

Well. In Melee if you beat Hard mode with out using a continue, you only unlock Crazy Hand trophy so it's not a character and it's not that important. I think all the unlockables will be at normal level or around Event 50/51 level.

The special thing that you might get is like an amazingly secret/very hard boss, like Giga Bowser, but worse.

Agreed, Very Hard on Melee is the perfect way to train, as it was like, double the difficulty as a level 9.

especially when you had to fight a team of people in classic or adventure. it was like a three on one, three times in a row and then fighting another dude.

That was hard to wrap my mind on for a second. But yeah, it is pretty difficult, I usually lose 4/5 Stocks doing it. On Average.
