Tekken 7 Thread

This is a thread for anyone who wants to discuss Tekken's seventh iteration in the game.

Anyways, their latest trailer which is "Fated Retribution" featured a certain guest character to which anyone who played Street Fighter maybe familiar with.


EDIT: What are your thoughts so far?

I like it. Tekken 7 added its slowdowns and zooms to help make it more spectator friendly, but it was still missing something. I think the graphics was a missing part for those people. Tekken 7 didn't look too bad before, but the graphics change and new default costumes give it an even more fresh look. I'll need see more ingame footage since the trailer had some filter stuff going on, but it might be the best looking fighter this gen.

Visually speaking, the game looks fantastic. I'm still waiting for some kind of playable version in NA.

And a PS4 release date.

I'm really lucky because I live 10 minutes by walking from the Times Square Dave and Busters with Tekken 7. What was said to be a "location test" I guess turned into a permanent stay. We don't have online battles, and the arcade difficulty is ludicrously easy, but at least I can get to play it. Back in summer, I would play a whole lot with the crew. But things started dying down, and I also decided to spend my free time elsewhere (plus Dave and Busters is expensive!)

But the new trailer has me really hyped so I'm probably going to go down tonight or next week and invite people to play some rounds.


I'm loving the game so far. Claudio is my favorite of the new characters, and I'm going to consider him my secondary main, after King. Or third, if they ever add Jun. Some of the changes to King I don't really like. One of his chain grabs is gone, as is some combo potential. Also its much easier to get out of throws now, so King isn't throw heavy anymore.

Kazumi I also like, but I'm having trouble learning her. She has some Jinpachi in her. Not great with her just yet.

How does Leo feel? Out of the character I see available from the site she and......Lars will most likely be the ones I play.

I spoke too soon. Tekken 7 and Pokken are gone from the Times Square Dave and Busters. Bummer. I was there in October and they still had it. Must've been recent.

Yeah, the one in socal at Round 1 is gone as well. I think ours was gone near the end of November.

Darn. I wish I knew it was leaving. After being there for 5 months, I guess I took it for granted. Would've gone with my friends had I known. I asked some people, and it seemed pretty abrupt to them too.
Pokken was only there for about a month, though.

I'm still surprised at her design lol. I know Elphelt in Xrd is in a wedding dress, but it's interesting to make this the supposed default for an already established character. Having the reveal at the Evo lineup was pretty cool too.

oh nuts my most hated character to fight is back.
actually scratch that,that would belong to Anna

that being said,its very nice she's back in the game. it wouldn't feel the same without her.

Didn't know there was a Tekken thread. So how do you feel about being able to play as kid Kazuya in story mode. Kind of a cool idea to be added in the game. Gives an idea that the story will cover a lot of the timeline.

Well, it seems like we will get a bit of a back story on the Mishimas for sure. Also it seems like Claudio will have a major role to play within the story.
