Yes, if you hit someone the frame they hit the ground the training mode counter will incorrectly keep counting.

Are you sure? I could've sworn I read somewhere that there's a frame where a character can hit the ground but can't tech (and thus, the counter is correct).

I've tested it and it can be teched. Same goes for spikes. Like Boom said, the counter meter LIES.

The best way to prove this without TAS is thinking: During the gazillion matches you have ever played, have you ever been unable to tech? Even if it's only a frame perfect possibility, the law of large numbers tells us it should have happened a few times if you play a lot.

This isn't really a reliable way, since a lot of times I wondered if my timing was just off.

Good to know that it can be teched though.

Sometimes, when playing online, you might feel unable to tech after quick attacks like Fox's jab at mid percents. Blame the delay. This doesn't really happen offline, so I'm guessing you meant online in your comment. And of course I meant offline. It's frame perfect stuff after all :ohwell:

I remember reading somewhere that the combo meter allows for one frame where hitstun is no longer in effect. This is because it takes one frame to register a button press, and therefore if you are in the air and you are only out of stun for one frame, you can't do anything and the combo will continue. If that one frame is on the ground, the combo meter does not reset even though it is something that is tech-able.

Is that you or a different blaze? Is there like a blaze and then a blade around here, both with numbers? I think one guy has a kirby next to his name.
