I wish to know if there are exercises that can dramatically improve my tech skill. Now, I am NOT looking for magical cure I know full well I have to work at it and spend time and effort and I am willing to do that. What I am looking for is particular exercises which are more effective at increasing tech skill than other regular exercises. Also if any of it is character based than let me list the characters I play. (Just in case)

Main

Kirby

Sub-Mains (Includes secondaries and tri-daries)

Mr.Game and watch (Secondary)
Sheik (Secondary)
Master Hand (Tri-dary)

Charters I have a passing interest in, play on occasion but do not use for serious matches. (Listed in descending order)

Mewtwo
Browser
Zelda
Samus
Link
Jiggily Puff

I mean this blog in the context of melee but I will take recommendations for SSB64 as well. (I do not own a Wii so I do not play SSBB enough for any of the advice to be helpful.)

Yeesh, you really like bad characters, don't you?

Well, my advice would be to do the same thing I did when I first started:
Put an enemy (preferably an empty second player so he doesn't move) Bowser on 9 handicap. Put yourself on 1 handicap. Put the damage ratio to .5. Practice l-canceling on him over and over until it's completely on muscle memory.
Then practice wavelanding over and over on platforms until that becomes second nature.

Mel is right I play against cpus all day and I have mastered WDing however I learned very slow but it took me 2 years to get WDing down mostly due to the fact I'm takling about WDing with everyone and at max lengh and I lacked people to play against.

WDing and SHFFLing isn't hard if you take the time to learn them train for both like 15 minutes a day vs level 1 cpus. It will also help teach you spacing.

Thanks, will post again on progress, thank you you two for setting me in the right direction.

Pick up fox and just practice with him a lot. Not only does that give you a top tier character you at least know how to play, he's so technical that your finger movements will speed up a ton when you get good with him
