tech chases on platforms

On Battlefield and Dreamland, I'm having trouble getting anything more than an uair against people who choose not to tech on platforms. After an uthrow, I feel like if I do a quick double jump stomp, it doesn't hit them, and if I try to react, I get hit by a get up attack. Is there a safe punish besides uair? I'm getting quite frustrated at spacies gimping me after I miss this tech chase.

If they're trying to getup attack your stomps you can try doublejumping around them out of getup attack range
Or doing something like doublejump fastfall through the platform to bait it, then hitting them somehow

What I sometimes do if they're dead set on not teching is instant doublejump Nair but that doesn't really combo spacies, more of a vs Marth thing (also this is something I'd never try if I knew they just held down)
Sometimes you might be able to get a runoff knee but uhh yeah whatever

At low % you don't always have time to set up the doublejump stomp that covers half their options
Maybe experiment with fullhop stomp

Uair might just be the best you can do though *shrug*
Maybe wavelanding on the platform but that's probably too slow to stop getup attack

I'm glad there's a vid of someone doing the sh knee on BF. I actually practiced that a ton, but I find it can be quite hard to hit because you have to be spaced under them properly. I'll experiment with the IDJ nair.

Do you guys think waveland grab is good with falcon? Especially against people who like to tech in place on platforms and hold shield.

When is it better to guess their tech with stomp vs just waiting underneath with uair? I find that uair sucks at low percents because they just fall off and hit you.

waveland grab on platforms is universally good, its the mixup to trying to tech chase with an attack

I think on Yoshi's and Stadium, waiting is good because you can react with a SH knee. You can do this on BF but the spacing is very precise, so you can't usually cover more than one option with knee. If they tech in place and shield, you can try to bait something with empty hops.

Instant doublejump Nair is bad if they hold down so take that advice with a grain of salt

It raaapes bad Marths who don't hold down though because at that point they're not DIing well enough to avoid a knee
