Team Battle with Friends and CPUs

One of my friends recently (finally) got Brawl and I'm trying to show him the ropes. I've been trying to set up team battles, us v 2 CPUs. This works fine for the first match, but then it kicks over to "Seeking" for P3 and P4 each match after.

Is there anyway around this? Or do I need to keep remaking the game?

either you or your buddy has to re-add the CPU after each match.

How do I readd the CPU? If I try to click in the P3/P4 ares, nothing happens.
