I have been wondering when Smashboards has the most and least activity, and so, I made this program:

It allowed me to log on to SWF once every 30 minutes and open the site in separate tabs each time, thus making it easy for me to just note down the number of users currently online. In order to not make Frown appear as online 24/7, I made an alternate account for this (sorry about that).

But then I realized, maybe the administrators could do this much more easily. I asked Kirby King, and he told me MLG had that power.

Yeah, MLG. I didn't feel like waiting for their answer, so I let my computer stay turned on for one week and then let it calculate the average number of users at certain times during the day.

Here is the result:

I chose GMT-8 as the time zone, since... well, I don't know.

Wow. So then members are most active around 18.00 to 20.00 hours?
Does that affect the speed of the servers overall?

What about Guest users? How many of them are regularly online as compared to people who have Registered? And are Guest users normally online at the same time as Registered users?

heheh, pretty cool.

What language was that program written in? I'm a computer science major and I haven't seen that language at all if my memory serves me.

Do repeats!
Make repeats for each point, then take means to plot a graph.

If you had the time to do that, it would be quite cool. :D

It's called AppleScript. Mac only.

I was actually about to do that... >_> But I'm really tired right now. Maybe tomorrow.

You could do it. =D

In between making a gigantic new Decisive Game and making customized pokemon games, I'm not sure I'd find enough time. :(

LOL I actually did that, but I had to adjust it a bit.

But I removed it because I was being too nerdy.

If you really want me to, I can do it again.
