... I know it isn't a poll, shaddup! =P

We are going to do this in a different manner than the initial pokemon poll. I will give a list of ways that we can use Manaphy, and you can put them in order, from your favorite choice to your least favorite. If you vote, PLEASE DO SOMETHING FOR EACH SET! THIS POST IS TO NOT ONLY PROVIDE AN EXAMPLE, BUT ALSO TO CAST MY VOTE AS WELL!!!

1. Tail Glow+3 Attacks
2. Acid Armor
3. Tail Glow-Sub+2 Attacks
4. Rain Support
5. Calm Mind
6. Toxic Stall, Heart Swap, Tail Glow-Rest+2 Attacks

Reasoning

My personal favorite set is the Tail Glow+3 Attacks, since Manaphy's natural typing, bulk, speed, and power combined with type coverage and something to boost its attack makes it a very easy set to use, abuse, and coordinate with.

Acid Armor is an interesting choice for second, but I really like the concept since some physical attackers can break through your usual CM one. Acid Armor stops that, and without STAB Thunderbolt your opponent might find themselves in a lot of hurt.

101 Subs are awesome, as is Tail Glow. Who's to complain?

Rain Support is underestimated, and with a slow U-Turn it can easy set up Rain and get in something like Kingdra or Ludicolo to truly lay the hurt.

Calm Mind version works very well in breaking through stall, but requires Toxic Spikes to do anything to Vaporeon.

The rest I didn't really like at all, so I just bundled them together.

It's a tough decision... lots of good ones out there. I think I might sit this one out for a while and read what other people say to see if they can persuade me. :)

Alright. Someone has to go "first".

1. Tail Glow+3 Attacks

Most potential for sweeping.

2. Tail Glow-Sub+2 Attacks

Substitute Boosting attackers are somewhat common. They all suffer from type coverage. This set is basically the same as SubPetaya Empoleon.

3. Rain Support

No comment, really. Rain is a good weather effect to abuse.

4. Acid Armor

Vaporeon does this.

5. Heart Swap

Novel idea, has gimmick / surprise potential.

6. Toxic Stall, Tail Glow-Rest+2 Attacks, Calm Mind

Only two votes? And I had to be one of them?

C'mon, people, I'm sure me and annoying over here aren't the only ones that have interest in this project.

1. Rain support.
2. Toxic Stall
3. Tail Glow
4. Heart Swap
6. Calm Mind. Tail Glow 3. Tail Glow Sub. Tail Glow 2. Acid Armor.

6 because something else does all those roles much better.

Eggmanland, obviously.
1. Tail Glow+3 Attacks

Straight up sweeping. Fun.

2. Rain Support

Rain's a nice weather effect, just as Annoying has already stated.

3. Heart Swap

It would piss off any CM Blissey-which is reason enough.

4. Toxic Stall

With near-infinite full heals, Manaphy is perfect for this.

5. Tail Glow+Rest & 2 Attacks

Culminates all of Manaphy's advantages.

6. Tail Glow+Sub & 2 Attacks

Kinda common, really. Water+Electric does have its advantages, though.

7. Acid Armor and Calm Mind

No reason, just don't like them.

My vote is Rain Support followed closely by Calm Mind. I feel like Rest and the use of Hydration should definitely be utilized.

I'm not so sure about the Tail+Glow+Rest & 2 attacks. I feel Energy Ball is needed for the Tail Glow set.

Oh, okay. Just making sure. :p In that case:

1. Tail Glow-Sub-2 Attacks
2. Tail Glow-3 Attacks
3. Heart Swap
4. Calm Mind
5. Tail Glow-Rest-2 Attacks
6. Rain Support
7. Toxic Stall and Acid Armour

I think Thunder Wave and such are too common nowadays to risk letting Manaphy get hit by one. Assuming you're not running Rain support, then Substitute is the best way to get around it. If we think we can just risk it, then better coverage is the next best option, since Rest is a really bad option without Rain. Heart Swap would catch alot of people off-guard, since quite a few still think its banned, and the rest don't even know what it is, and thus make it easier under some circumstances for Manaphy to sweep. Calm Mind is good, but I think Latias does it better, but its still an option. As I said slightly earlier in this wall of text, Rest is bad without Rain, and Rain doesn't go for long enough outside of Ubers, imo. Rain Support is next, since I feel others can do that better (namely Azelf) and Toxic Stall and Acid Armour are last because I feel there's a few other Pokemon who can do them even better.

1. Tail Glow-3 Attacks
This is my favorite, the sweeping potential of this is nice, especially with Rain support. This is probably the most useful. This can take down Blissey to an extent, this was at one point exclusive to Porygon-Z as far as special sweepers go, so this is pretty nice.

2. Heart Swap
I love Heart Swap, it won me a freaking Tourney after swapping with a CMCune with 3 CMs.

3. Tail Glow-Rest+2 Attacks
This is a really cool set, but it reall needs Rain support to work, this isn't a abd thing at all, but it can get problems because of that.

4. Tail Glow-Sub+2 Attacks
This works, even without Rain Support, but Sub chunks away at the health for the minimal protection it gives, and TG Rest works better than this if you do get the Rain support.

5. Calm Mind
Tail Glow is the reason that Manaphy is so unique, Calm Minding is better for Suicune.

6. Rain Support
There are other Pokemon better for Rain Support than Manaphy, waste of potential.

7. Toxic Stall
Any bulky Pokemon can do this, if we want Toxicstall, we'll use another Pokemon we'll add on later.

8. Acid Armor
Are you serious?

Or you guys could test this on the suspect ladder.

If we're doing this in ubers, many of these sets wouldn't be viable.

By the time we make this suspect will be over.
so we have to make a prediction I guess.

Predict Manaphy being OU, or Manaphy being Uber.

I think we should have a poll, the winning result will be the prediction, and we hope to god we end up right.
