I didn't watch a full playthrough of Uprising until May of last year, but it was different than what I as expecting.
During the second part of the game after Medusa, the plot just goes...all over the place. It seems to be separated into several "sagas".

Hades doesn't really play a major role other than the Wish Seed chapter at the beginning and the chapters near the end of the game. In between, he just stays in the background, making comments.

There's even a "saga" where a swarm of aliens arrive out of nowhere and all the characters join together to defeat it. (not joking)

Two, yup, Uprising is in very clear sagas. Personally I think it's cool and keeps things fresh instead of constantly chasing down the same baddie.

It's like one of those Y7 cartoons where there's an overarching plot more or less but other than that the plot does what it wants.

Some people like it, other people want something deeper. I enjoyed it, but someone looking for a coherent experience is better off picking up a Final Fantasy or Fire Emblem game. KI:U is more about just enjoying whatever the world throws at you and taking it in stride.

Why are people acting like Paper Mario Wii U is not plausible?

I'm not sure about the legitimacy of the rumour, but Paper Mario Wii U is a perfectly plausible thing conceptually. The series is normally a home console series, with Mario & Luigi being the handheld one. Sticker Star was the real oddball in terms of previous patterns.

It also makes sense timeline wise. Intelligent Systems are finished with FE Fates and have been for a while now other than the small bits of DLC, so they can probably switch focus to whatever other projects they had. Paper Mario Wii U is a likely candidate, especially with Paper Jam advertising Paper Mario.

I also think Mother 3 is inevitable. They already gave us a wink.

They've given us a wink. They've done the other two. Lucas has been in Smash twice now, the second time actually as standalone content that people have to actively purchase.

It's not a matter of if. It's a matter of when. And I think it will happen soon enough.

Favorite Uprising Character?
Considering I've gone mostly spoiler-free for Uprising, that lowers to pool down
Pit, Pale Tuna, Pittoo, Viridi, Hades, Mesuda, (<Smash) that 3-headed Dog thing, (<KI:U Trailer) H-is-for-HAMAZING (<Picture I saw) and Lady Phosphy (<Smash)
Lady Phosphy is definitely my favorite character of that list, hands-down
She's adorable
She has a cute voice
The lightning scarf is awesome
She's awesome~
I'd love to look more into her but I don't wanna run into spoilers
But I'll never be able to play Uprising properly unless I get a Normal 3DS + Circle Pad Pro because I'm a klutz with my right hand
So I'll just stare at her Smash Trophy all like

Well she does have by far the best fight scene in the game with another God happening.... and it's quite long.
Please get it. You can change the camera to be controlled by the buttons, if somehow that helps. Either way... even if your trash the game will be WELL worth it. Not like you would be able to complete even most of them 300+ challenges unless you are super-human anyway..

So buy mostly for the experience / plot.

I know nothing about Kid Icarus or Phosphora.

Isn't she like... a weather controller? Because if so that's cool. Also she's a waifu, so extra cool.
