Same goes for when people are asking for opinions on Pokémon Nuzlocke stuff. I can't really contribute since I don't play main series Pokémon anymore, at least for now.

I generally don't do theory discussions and stuff here (it'd probably be mostly Rosalina/Kingdom Hearts lore, or just character/lore/game mechanic analysing on anything I like, and general game speculation for whatever ones I like) since I don't assume anyone would be interested. A thread like this is generally far too open ended for that kind of thing. The only common interest is Smash between all of us and even then, speculation is beyond pointless now, and I'm somewhat ambivalent to Smash right now.

And like I posted a while ago, my posts are mostly gonna be lower effort and neutral stuff like "I got this game you guys said was cool", "I got some cool mrechandise, here's some pictures", and "look at this announcement/piece of news", etc. Because I have a pretty draining job right now and don't have the time and energy to make longer posts that much. I also just don't care to get into heated debates, things spiral out of control too easily in this topic (or really, on the internet in general), and doing that while working the job I am would just get exhausting and a little depressing, honestly. So just casual discussion the odd time is all I really do around here now.

After thinking of many ideas about how a hard mode came to be, I've concluded and wanted share it with all of you.

I believe that Chara was one of the first to be given the ability to reset and go back in time. I theorize that Chara was one who suffered through a lot of heart-breaking moments and she used this power to fix everything.

Chara went back in time to make every situation good with his/her close friends), but he/she couldn't resolve them because there were too many instances of good situations turning into bad situations for others. This leads to why he/she hated humanity, becoming so corrupted that he/she wanted as much power as possible to end the human and monster race.

We can take from the the fun value theory, it is theorized that Gaster went to a very similar situation as Chara, testing certain outcomes that eventually lead to testing Genocide.

I believe Chara is connected to Gaster, in that he/she accidentally was given the power of resetting when Gaster first experimented on creating the power of resetting. I think Gaster wanted to create a reset power because he wanted to stop the war between humans and monsters. (Kinda feels obvious when you think about it)

Chara accidentally went back in time to the point before all these bad situations were placed onto her, letting her change fate. I believe that Gaster and Chara had equal power of reseting, leading to the time space continuom being corrupted, leading to Chara and Gaster's corruption. Leading to the plot of Undertale and how the game watches each and every action you make.

What do you think, is my theory flawed plot-wise. I couldn't get Chara out of my head and wanted to share badly.

since i have already see the grey npv and fun value theory, i know what you are saying. And i have to say, you're theory is very interesting. I have to say however that, personally, i don't think Chara use the power of reset during the time she was alive. We don't even know how long she was with the Dreemur family before his/her dead. And i don't think he/she would have use it during that time. Also, since he/she was dead with Asriel, i believe his soul just dissipear for latter come back into Frisk. whick make it that he/she couldn't use her determination at that time. Also, Gster dead is probably after Chara die, so, Chara wouldn't have been at the time to be experimented with determination. And so, still not be able to reset everything to see the possible outcome like Gaster have done, according to the theory. Frankly, Chara have for me, no relation to Gaster in any form except maybe they talked once at the time Gaster and Chara we're alive. But here, it's pure speculation.

So yeah, i hope my answer isn't too strange for you.

I can understand this line of thinking with Mario (but I was specifically saying Rosalina, who's famous for the fact she has this whole lore surrounding her you can analyse), but Sonic?

I heard Sonic's story is super inconsistent and has lots of plot-holes, so that's why I'm not really interested in Sonic's story.

And Rosalina does have some interesting story lore to share in the original Mario Galaxy, but there's not enough plot outside of hers to connect the dots to anything.

1) Chara hated humanity, so, having a plan where he could have revenge on them will be OK for him.
2) He/she wanted to free the Underground because how nice the moster we're with him. He wanted for the only family that love him to finally have the happy ending they deserve.
3) Do you remember how Chara laughed when he/she have poisoned Asgore with Buttercup Tea? Well, it's never said what type of laugh it was, it could have been a laugh like "Hahahah...I have done all wrong again. I am so stupid....Hahaha..." and so, he wanted to be sure to feel the pain that he caused. (He kill himself by eating Buttercup flower, which if you don't know, isn't a very happy way to die. In contrary, it's horrible.) He wanted to sacrifice himself because he knew that he was not really a good person inside him.

So, i can't believe Chara have searched at a moment of his life, a way ot be able to reset everything. As for Sans, i don't think he was here or born at the time Chara was here, or atleast. He wasn't a Royal scientific at the time. So, he would have done nohting against Chara. Heck, we don't even know if Gaster was the Royal scientific at the time Chara was alive. Maybe he was hired after the accident with Asriel/Chara? It's really hard to tell at that point.

Peach is literally the video game character with the most Rule 34, has been blatantly sexualised in official Nintendo media plenty of times (Smash actually being one of the more noticeable ones), and Super Paper Mario had an entire segment with a gal game parody with her as the waifu in the game. Plus she consistently plays the role of an object to be saved by a man, she was created for the sole intention of being an object the player wants.

She's the original waifu, in terms of video games. She has to be there. It's literally why she is in Smash at this point. :V

Also the Smash community loves their WFT Rule 34 so, gotta keep her.

Rosalina and Zelda always look out of place in this kind of thing since they're designed to be actually compelling characters in their own right from the get go (Zelda was a bit like Peach at first but more recent representation of her character makes her much more respectable). They aren't waifu bait but they are quality waifus because they are quality characters and nothing else.

While all of the other ones all clearly have at least a hint of "please love this character in a literal sense" pandering to them.
