I'll take you on - but to make things interesting, I'm going to take the most extreme opposite stance I can:
For the purposes of this bet (not necessarily what I believe), I'll wager that the 4chan leak is correct - 6 characters revealed, 3 available after the direct. I'm going all in.
I'll wager you a Super Mario Maker level - the winner creates the most frustrating level they can for the loser, and the loser must upload a video to their Youtube channel (since we both have one) of suffering through it to completion.
If we're both wrong (and that's what I'm counting on with my outrageous bet), we both create frustrating levels for each other.
For the record, here's my actual gut feeling on character reveals: 3 shown, 2 available after direct, the third will be available December or January. They hint that this is not the end but don't give a firm cap.

There's always at least one person confused about time zones on here haha. Just look it up on google. If you don't know what time zone you're in, type in "What time zone am I in?". Once you do that, find out what time the thing you're asking about is. "2PM PST". Look up "PST to (your time zone, aka est, gmt" and it will tell you how many hours ahead you are. So you add that to the time. Not that hard
No new reveals is vague. The only new thing added to Smash could be one measly Mii costume but it'd still technically be a reveal
I'm at least expecting to get one character announced though. Even if course we may have to wait a little bit for the character to be complete like we had to do with Mewtwo
Here I am working on that Mega challenge and suddenly a direct appeared.

Anyway, @Swampasaur, here's Mega Xatu. Type:Psychic/Ghost
As Xatu is described as the Spirit/Mystic Pokemon, and psychics in media are often depicted as speaking to the dead, rather than twisting spoons, I made Xatu's mega form go too far into the spirit realm. It became possessed by some unknown Ghost type Pokemon, overriding it's original Flying type. That's all I've got since I don't know much about stats or anything. I was a bit lazy with the design...
Direct HYPE! Man, finally! Looks like it at midnight for me so waking up for work in the morning will be tough but I shall survive. The wait during these couple of days will be difficult!
