I liked it and I would likely buy it if the game ever came out, but I don't see it doing much.

What.... that's stupid! It's still not out of the question that it could wait in developmental hell. Hopefully it's like Duke Nukem Forever, minus the 14 year wait (2 or 3 years sounds good to me).

All hope is not lost for this game.

Read the instructions carefully and sign the only petition Capcom recognize. If we get 25,000+ signatures, Capcom may see this as viable and may bring back the game. This is one of these moments where a petition may do something.

Canceling a game is a very serious decision. The MML team is surely split up by now and working on other projects. To bring this project back would mean canceling/delaying several other ones at this point. Very very few games get uncancelled. The desparation has got you guys not thinking straight. Just think about this quote for a second:

Hopefully it's like duke nukem forever? I never expected to hear that sentence in a positive way. This game is doomed if wanting this game to be like DNF is considered looking on the bright side.

But yet, actually Dev's are looking what are special members (aka Servbots on Capcom Unity) are saying, such as ideas and suggestion towards the production of MML3. So, clearly, it's solid proof this movement will be a success.

Unfortunately, this isn't proof that the game will be revived, although it does show we have a shot of reviving this game.
