http://www.nintendolife.com/news/20...cer_would_love_to_work_with_mario_and_company
So the producer of Hyrule Warriors has come out and said that they would love to work with Mario, or other Nintendo franchises. However, they do specifically mention Smash Bros as a starting point:
Personally, I think a "Super Smash Warriors" would be amazing, and a really refreshing spin-off for the Smash Bros franchise, while still referencing the franchise's roots, through movesets and such.
But what do you guys think? Would ye like to see Kirby mow down armies of Metroids or something in a super stylish fashion, and other such shenanigans? Or is that pushing things too far?

While most of you people here are Americans and are likely still eagerly awaiting Hyrule Warriors, it's already out over here in Europe, and I already have it. It's a fantastic game, and certainly one of the best on the Wii U (really the only rival to it Super Mario 3D World IMO, besides Smash Bros). It's also the most polished and interesting Warriors game in a long time. One of my ultimate dreams would be using that character with the red hat on top. There is a Smash Bros. coming out, we do see a lot of different characters coming together in an all-star roster, so hopefully in the long run we can work with Nintendo on something with a similar line, where we can provide or deliver something Nintendo can't in a sense with their own IP.
