Super Smash on Mobile

I've recently learned how to develop platformer games for mobile devices (iOS, Android, Blackberry and Kindle) and I'm thinking about creating a super smash bros knock off. Not sure what kind of characters, stages or themes it would have, but I've been thinking it could have a lot of potential. Any ideas would by appreciated and I'd love to know whether or not you think it would be worth a buck for a full version.

I don't know how the controls would work but it sounds kind of cool. Whether or not it would be worth money would depend on the controls, gameplay, ect.

1. you can't charge for it if you use nintendo characters (or characters from any pre-existing series) due to copyrights
2. you're not supposed to make a topic for anything around here unless you've made progress on it already and have something to show
