Super Smash Brothers Brawl! Possible Game of the Year?!

Now i want this to be a serious discussion cause i am very interested in it. How many people here think that Super Smash Brothers Brawl could be a game of the year? Now that is the biggest title a video game can receive. Isn't that such an honor. Now the competition is Halo 3 and well that had a midnight release and i don't believe brawl will. But could Sakurai outsell Halo 3 a Bungies final smash into the video game World? Now Halo3 was like Master Cheif picking up the smash ball and well...upgrading it! Can it really be possible. With sonic and mario now working together, the two that fought over popularity back when NES and Sega came out, really bring a record above Halo 3? Now the reason why i don't fear PS3 getting a record is for several reasons which would be very mean for me to say ^^ so ill just stay quite. Now i wonder will this team up of characters really blast SSBB into Game of the year? Now best multi-player possibly but then you got to fight halo for that one, and lets face it best campaign definably is not gonna be the award. Now people what other awards are there that SSBB could receive any logical ideas? Please share them and give reasons cause i wanna see if we can start a giant hype and make this game MORE anticipated than Halo 3, now one cool thing i have to say is that Ign.com had a poll taken recently which asked "Who do you think would win in a fight Samus? Or the Master Cheif?" And 78.2% voted for Samus. SO lets talk about Sakurais chances to make history. :tnt:

Brawl seems to be shaping up to be game of the year potential. But i dont know about GOTY for sure.

I'm pretty sure Call of Duty 4 is going to get GOTY. The press seems so excited about it.

It's a really hard choice this year. COD4, Halo 3, SSBB, SMG, and Rock Band. What a list.

It's very subjective...
But since the "mainstream" gamers are mostly playing FPS', Brawl's chance isn't as high as Halo 3 or COD4..

For me personally, it's the GOTY anytime~

it has a great chance of being gmae of the year but halo 3 will make it hard, just because it has that status and all the fanboys, brawl will most likley be better than halo 3 but because of halos world wide status brawl might not get that title officially but in my mind halo doesnt stand a chance brawl will be epic !

I voted for Samus. And yes Zero for Brawl!

On topic:

I think that it is at least plausible that Smash could be Game of the Year, although perhaps not this year due to the fact that it is to be released so late into the year, but if it is half as good of a game as it has potential to be, and has some hidden, unreleased Wifi game mode that allows for perhaps a ranked type play of some sort(that also proves to have little lag),
coupled with the fact of the Wii's high selling rate and how most everyone('cept for ULTRA n00bs)will buy Brawl, then it seems to be quite possible for SSBB to win Game of the Year.
Even if just for the popularity of both mario and sonic in the same crazed, battle royal feast of a gem-game.

But, of course, if Zero was in it then it would win Game of the Year for sure! Fanboyism FTW!

actually. perhaps suriki (or however the hell you spell his name) is considering holding the game off untill january so it doesnt have to compete with halo3 for the title.

because if it doesnt have to do that, it will win for shure

Nintendo has spent SO much time and money into Brawl if it doesn't start winner awards the MASSIVE sales WILL make up for it.

It's shelf live alone will keep it in the news and these forums for YEARS to come.
