Monster Rancher is a long-running series of games along the lines of Pokemon and Digimon in which players acquire monsters, train them, and then battle with them. Where Monster Rancher differs is the game primarily focuses on generating monsters with CDs, sounds, drawings, etc. rather than having the player catch the monsters themselves. The games are made by KOEI-Tecmo, a longtime publisher with history with Nintendo back to the NES.

Suezo is the longtime mascot for the series. As Pikachu is to Pokemon, Suezo is to Monster Rancher. In the games, he is presented as a goofy monster with the personality very much like a class clown. In terms of abilities, he was an Int focused monster, meaning he was stronger with non-physical attacks. For Suezo, this included spitting, licking, yodelling and telekinetic powers. There's more to this yellow eyeball then meets the eye.

He would provide an extremely unique moveset in the game, especially factoring in some of his stranger attacks and moves from his own games. A natural rivalry between Suezo and the Pokemon fighters would be fun to watch play out as well, similar to the battles between Mario and Sonic as classic rivals going at it. Tecmo is a long time partner with Nintendo and including a character of theirs would definitely honour the company. His cartoony look would also fit great in with the classic Nintendo franchises present in Smash, especially for a third party character.

Crouch - Suezo takes his sleeping pose from the games, but keeps his eye open.
Run - Quickly bounds with his leg in whatever direction he's going.
Walk - Slowly hops from one position to the next using his leg.
Idle - Suezo bobs up and down while remaining grounded.
Jump - Suezo briefly crouches low, then jumps with his leg.
Mid-Air Jump - Suezo does a front-slip, gaining more momentum and rising in the air.
Get-Up Attack - Suezo spins wildly in all directions with his leg before resuming a standing position.
Ledge Attack - Suezo while remaining crouches as he gets up does a quick spin with his leg while remaining on the ground.
Grab - Suezo reaches out as far as possible with his tongue in an attempt to wrap the opponent with it.
F-Throw - Suezo swallows his opponent before spitting them out in a horizontal angle.
B-Throw - Suezo spins around quickly before loosening his grip and sending his opponent flying behind him.
D-Throw - Suezo chews on his opponent briefly before spitting them out at the ground.
U-Throw - Suezo quickly lifts his opponent off the ground with his tongue, before using his eye's telekinetic powers to lift him even higher.
Pummel - Suezo tightens his grip, doing a small amount of damage.
Neutral Special - Eye Beam - Suezo closes his eyes before unleashing a red beam straight from his eyes. Charges in a similar manner to R.O.B.'s neutral B.
Side Special - Spit - Suezo spits in the angled location. Sticks to fighters and the stage briefly. Fighters have their movement slowed by the spit and fighters travelling over the affected location also have their movement slowed.
Up Special - Teleport - Suezo teleports up, angled in the direction of his choosing. No hitboxes to the move.
Down Special - Yodel - Suezo starts singing horribly. Fighters caught in the AOE have their controls reversed briefly.
Jab - Multihit attack with Suezo giving opponents in front of him a lashing with his tongue.
F-Tilt - Suezo leans forward and quickly bites three times in front of him.
U-Tilt - Suezo stretches his leg up and swings his head with his tongue outstretched in an arc.
D-Tilt - Suezo spins his leg in front of him while on the ground.
F-Smash - Suezo focuses and creates a telekinetic burst in front of him.
D-Smash - Suezo crouches down and first strikes backwards then forwards with his tongue on the ground.
U-Smash - Suezo stretches his leg up and bites up hard.
U-Air - Suezo stretches his tongue as far upwards as he can, striking opponents with it.
Bair - Suezo swings his tail backwards, striking enemies behind him.
Fair - Suezo focuses and creates a telekinetic burst of energy in front of him.
Nair - Suezo does a flip, hitting everyone around him with his tail.
Dair - Suezo nosedives quickly towards the stage with his mouth open. Opponents hit on the ground are command-grabbed briefly and chewed on (A la Wario's B). Opponents hit in the air are bit once before being launched.
Victory Animation - Suezo charges up before launching himself at the screen with his eye and mouth open wide.
Losing Animation - Suezo swings his tongue side to side as if clapping with his tongue against either side of his head.
Up-Taunt - Suezo, sticks his tongue out at the viewer, swinging it side to side and seemingly laughing.
Down-Taunt - Suezo does three flips, before looking at the viewer with his mouth wide open.
Side-Taunt - Suezo wraps his leg around his body and turning away making a kissing motion.

So, unfortunately, with the datamine the only Koei Tecmo-adjacent spirits we got were Fatal Frame which is co-owned by Nintendo. In addition, Koei Tecmo wasn't included at all in the copyrights.
