this has to have been asked dozens of times before, and some mod is gonna come and shut this down, flaming me for not using the search function, even though i already did, to the best of my abilities, typing in every keyword i could think of and coming up with threads about marth.

if im missing something with the search function, tell me.

anyway, i've been playing around casually with fox and falco, and i still havn't managed to figure out how to do a trick side-b (the one u go shorter). my friend tells me u repeatedly press b after u do the move, but it works one out of 3 times for him and i want to know if he's just getting lucky:psycho:

Theres just a few frames where you can press B to cancel it. Spamming it usually works as well though, since you tend to hit at least once within that window. I bet the frame data is out that somewhere. Maybe in a fox/falco guide, or on M2K's site or something. Hope that helps ^^

I used to have trouble with this. Right when you press side B, just rapidly press B and it should work. You can time it, but I find that pretty hard.

You press B right before the noise that the phantom attack makes. I suggest just mashing the B tutton right after you do the move though.

press B about half a second after you do the move.

Here's exactly how to do it:

Fox moves for 5 frames, and is at 5 distinct locations at those points. You press b one frame before he's at the location you want to be, so you can shorten it to 5 different lengths. Spamming b won't get you accurate shortens though, so be wary. Just learn the timing, you press b during the motion the moment before you want to stop (where technically "moment" here means 1/60 sec). Hope this helps.
