Over time i've noticed that at least 2 moves acutcally cancel out most of their hit-stun. as pikachu/pichu upair if you them through a platform then upair them again it will combo but then their is no stun an dthey are sent straight up and can jump out before you combo on cpus or people. What causes this?

Does this happen with anyone esle like with their upairs? has anyone esle noticed this? I don't have msash with me righ tnow but i'm pretty sure if they're on a platform an dyou upair them they will go up without stun. I can't rememeber right now.

I think it has something to do with stale moves, like when you falco shine someone whos knocked over, they go up without hitstun sometimes.

You can't cancel do anything to cancel stun as a charcter once you are hit other than like CC ,die, or tech.
I meant it might not have been stun, it might just seem like stun because they don't wiggle out the first time you uair them. It's probably stale moves, like girku said though.

He's talking about when a move that does a certain amount of KB or damage hits an opponent in the "lying on ground" state, they will take KB but will not enter into hitstun.\

As Falco's shine loses damage through staling, it will not do enough damage to send a "lying" opponent into hitstun. Utilt more.

ICG you have been practising against CPU lvl-1 falco too much.

After you have hi with uair 3 times, if you use it on an opponent who has missed their tech ('scooping' them off the floor with a fully stale move) they will shoot upwards with no stun.

OP makes little to no sense. L2english, please :(

The knock down explanation is the answer to your specific question, but there's another way this happens that doesn't involve knock downs.

Certain moves will reset the opponent's position (no tumble state) after they were already in hit stun/tumble, jabs being the most common example until very high %. You can easily test it on Brinstar using the acid. Hit them while they have most of their knock back momentum from the previous hit. They will continue to move in the same direction but all stun is canceled out.

fun fact after using pichu's upair 12 times in a row without dieing it still has enough stun at 0% to force space animals to tech on FD. upair has a lot of stun.

thanks Lord HDL I just want to know why that happens? but it seems platform related because i've never had it happen on FD.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-27BxoddBmM at 0:50 upair has stun don't give me that stale move bull s*** this isn't brawl staleing doesn't effect hitstun the damage percent does. higher the percent the higher the stun if not equal

i think its fully staled after 4 hits anyway. how much lower could the developers allow after making it do 4% unstaled anyway!

poor pichu :(
pichu ditto is the most fun matchup in the game

It's not unique to platforms, it happens everywhere including FD. You can see it by getting hit multiple times by Peach's up B, or in teams if one person gets hit by two moves in a row: the 1st move putting them in the hit stun that results in tumble, and the 2nd move being weak and hitting them out of that hit stun early.

I love pichu dittos even if it takes longer than 60% of all brawl matches. swear I played pichu dittos on DL64 then m2 dittos there and the pichu ditto took longer but was funner.
