In order, this video shows

- Jab cancelling
- F-tilt Desynch
- Double Direction D-smash
- Pivot Desynch
- Pivot Smash Desynch
- Jump-cancel Pivot Desynch
- Turnaround Desynch
- Landing Ice Block Desynch
- Reverse DtD-air chaingrab
- Edge chaingrabbing

Thanks to Wobbles for finding and pioneering a lot of these techniques, I simply made this video so that other IC players might try them out.

Hmm, a few days ago I found out that the edge chaingrab is also an infinite on Samus and Marth, though it's nearly impossible on Marth. I'm thinking that maybe it's an infinite on every character but only if you grab on the frame that they're released. It seems hard to time, but possible? It doesn't matter much, because with enough Blizzards tossed in you can usually kill them before you run out of space. :p

That's a really nice vid. I've always wanted a kind of basic techniques vid for ic's since they're so different from everbody else and have so many character specific ATs, you don't really know where to start.

These are hard lol not basic at all. I dunno if all of them could even be used in serious matches. Only players with tech skill level of 7 or above can do those.

actually the note at the bottom indicates the difficulty of the technique, example it ranges from lvl 6.5 to lvl 7.

Mike: It's a pity, because I had the same exact problem when I wanted to learn icys. I wouldn't say these are the fundamentals of the ice climbers at all, rather little tricks that may occasionally come in use in a match. I made the video because most of these are obscure techniques and not many ice climber players bother to learn them.

I could never figure out where to start, because all info in this forum is scattered. I would recommend watching Avalanche (the chain grabbing video by nealdt) and Double Vision (a desynch video guide which shows the commonly used desynchs). After that I would watch videos of Chu Dat or Wobbles, because it's the easiest way to pick up a playstyle.

I don't want to make this post unnecessarily long; if you have questions about Ice Climbers and you can't find the answer I'm on AIM often. We need more melee IC players. :D

Good stuff but unfortunately for me there was nothing new...

But that was nice collection of useful minitricks, but it ain't so easy to master those techiques, believe me.. I know what I'm talking about =P

I was planing to make some kind of IC_"Show-off" vid that includes funny, but not so usesul tricks :p. For example reverse Iceblock approach or Nana-Moonwalk *_*

Yeah, if you read the Ice Climber forums religously when melee was still popular, none of this should be new. I wanted to demonstrate them because Wobbles is the only IC player I know of who really uses these techniques (except the reverse d-air cg, and jab cancelling). The turnaround desynch is the least known... I believe it was only mentioned once by Speedsk8er in a single post.

That's because I had JUST discovered it and I wasn't exactly sure of the input command. The way I did it consistently back then was back and then jam down on the analog.

On a slightly related note, Crossing Mallet Taunt is tooooo good. XD
