So I've asked myself: If every Smash Bros.-Character were to be put in a Battle Royale, how would the Rankings look like? I don't mean in Smash Bros itself, since that has to be balanced, I mean everyone with their canonical powers and abilities. What do you guys think?

I'm sure this thread has been made already, but oh well. I would like to say Robin, but I can't let my fanboyism blind me, so I'll go with Mewtwo. His psychic powers are shown to change ordinary humans and other beings into stone from the first movie, and combine that with the power of Mega Evolution, and you got yourself an unstoppable tyrant. That's just my two cents on the matter, anyway.

Whoever else posts in this thread has a stupid opinion.

It is very obviously the KING HIMSELF who will royally dominate every peasant who stands in his way. No exceptions.

But :4robinm: is the other half of a legendary monster that has the power to bring the entire world to ruin. And he can summon warriors to aid him at will (though that might just be teleportation magic instead of outright summoning them). On top of that, only one thing could end him for good.

Shulk can see the future, so I think that at least makes him one of the best fighters.

Not to mention that he's an ingenious tactician whose strategies are unmatched. He could probably whip up a plan or two to successfully beat every other contender at the lowest risk possible.

Does setting your own ship on fire with the hopes of causing collateral damage count as low-risk?

Because I think that's the opposite.:bomb:

Ganondorf is usually pegged as the most powerful being in Nintendo's history. Nothing seems to truly end him for good.

Though he hasn't made an appearance in Toonie's world since getting an evil-slaying sword to the skull, being turned to stone and left at the bottom of the ocean. Triforce of Power or not, that might be hard to recover from. .....Unless maybe someone (or something) finds a way to yank the sword out..... But only the chosen hero should be able to do that.

Well even I hate to say it, but does anyone remember the Death Battle with Kirby where they revealed he's basically invincible?

Im pretty sure wario would last long in the fight, he is literally invincible in his own games, not to mention his other powers, disguises, AND Warioman.

I totally forgot about :4wario:. You can flatten him, turn him into a zombie, roast him, freeze him and all other sorts of abuse, and what does he do? Walks it off with a laugh and comes back for more. As stated above, that's not even taking Wario-Man into account. It's just at that point he's immune to damage, possesses flight and can run as fast as :4sonic: (well, :sonic: anyway, never tested it in Smash 4).

Unfortunately, you can't always simply light your boats on fire and launch them towards the enemy to win a fight.

Mewtwo can just remove the knowledge of breathing from his brain.

Samus wins.

Power bomb TNT equivalence
For some time I’ve been using TNT as the explosive material for Samus’ power bombs, but I suspect that I’ve been doing this incorrectly all this time, simply because nuclear bombs use fissiles, material capable of sustaining a nuclear fission chain reaction. While the use of G. I. Taylor’s method, (R^5 ρ) / t^2 [1] isn’t incorrect, the assumption that power bombs use TNT is. Indeed, TNT is one of the most common explosives, but for nuclear weapons? I don’t think so. That would be Uranium-235.

From UC Davis ChemWiki, [2] we are told that the amount of mass lost in the fission process is equal to 3.2 × 10^-11 J. We are then asked how much energy would be released if 1 gram of U-235 undergone fission. The equation for this is as follows:

(1.00 g. 235-U) × (1 mol 235-U/235 g. 235-U) × (6.022 × 10^23 atoms 235-U/1 mol 235-U) × (3.2 × 10^-11 J/1 atom 235-U)

This is equal to 8.2 ×10^10 J. We don’t know the volume of Samus’ power bombs, but that’s all right. The required critical mass for U-235 with a neutron reflector is 15 kg. [2] This is obviously more than 1 g., so with the aforementioned calculation, just how much energy would come from 15 kg. of U-235? A total of 1,230,025,531,914,893.62 J, or 293.98 kilotons of TNT. I’m sure some may take issue with this calculation, but even if only 2% of U-235 actually blew up like it happened with Little Boy (a different bomb of its own), that still leaves us with 5.88 kt of TNT.

  1. Estimate of the energy released in the first Atomic Bomb explosion.
  2. Fission and Fusion – UC Davis ChemWiki
  3. Critical Mass – Atomic Archive, p. 3
