So I found this pac will not work through ASH or STASH... I don't want to give away where I found it. I just want know, how can I hex my way into the texture, and put the texture back in. I have my hexing program ready to go (UltraEdit). Now, if anyone would like a shot at it. I will upload it if you guys want.

The original file name was C00.PAC

I have the entire Brawl Partition, and I didn't find a C00.pac anywhere. I'm not sure if it's real.

If you think it's a problem with ASH.... then just use SmashBox instead. People always have problems with ASH, and I personally think SmashBox is easier, as well as less illegal.

Okay, well the pac file is not from brawl. But the creators of brawl helped make the game. The iso I have contains tons of pacs and the audio files are in brstm format. The brstms work in BCSM-GUIv1.5. So I think there something we can do with this pac file.

What game? I'm pretty sure ASH is designed specifically for Brawl, while BCSM is designed for the entire file format. I know it doesn't make sense, but a little explanation such as this will clear it up:

The .pac files for Brawl contain the Texture data and move set data. For other games, though, they may contain other things. The .brstm is a universal Wii format strictly set to music.

So, your .pac may or may not contain files that relate to textures, or the way they store textures is different than Brawl's, so ASH may not read it correctly.

These pacs that I found are from the new TMNT game. The iso is made like brawl's. Kinda. It has a fighter directory full of pacs, and stage pacs.

well it won't work in ASH or anything like that because ASH is specifically designed to extract textures placed in a location that is unique to the pac. (and SSBExtract is smash bros specific, at least i think)

May I have a copy of this file to look at in a hex editor? I may be able to do something with it, but I can't talk you through how to do anything with it with this secrecy and incomplete information

Ok after looking at it, I figured out why it won't work with ASH or Smashbox. It has no "organization" that I can see (for example: Brawl has TEX0 for textures, MDL0 for models, PLT0 for palettes, etc... this has nothing that stands out for me)

There could be different ways to get the information you would want from it (there always is a way) but you won't find it from Brawl hacking

You really dont know about this stuff much do you? From the little time i looked at it, it had a melee pac sort of structure, it has pointers poiting to headerless files. I could be wrong, but from what i saw, it looks like they are making this game harder to hack.

They're doing a lot of things to make games harder to hack nowadays.

I looked at it, and it was really confusing. Not a chance I'm making an extractor, or at least, not until I get a better Hex editor to look at it with :p

I know enough to know what i'm doing. I didn't try anything to the pac before I reported it here. I'm getting something through lz77ex.

I have tried that, by what i saw what the EOF SHOULD be, it will be extracting for a long while. Either way, its a compressed file, probably was a modified ntcompress.

It's not LZ77 compressed. In fact, it doesn't use any form of compression according to the Revolution SDK. I can't see any relevant data in this file or any file headers. Normally, a compressed file will contain at least one entry of the file tags stored either in a RLE fashion, or dictionary. Either the file is encrypted or corrupt, which makes ask how you extracted this file from the ISO?
