Hi, I do more testing than anything but I am a great player. This topic is about pits arrows.

First time you play you only knew about straight and curve arrows. Right? Your opponents actually get used to that and simply dodge and proceed. If timed correctly you get free hits on rolls and get ups. I mainly used straight arrows for only those purposes. Others can be for quick recovery hits off stage.

When arrow looping started, It seemed cool and nice but many don't take it seriously maybe because of bad aim.

Pit has a lot of push back moves that give him some time to loops arrows. To my studies, when you are arrow looping you are you seem concentrated on the loop and it doesn't feel safe. But you are free to do anything after the shooting frame. Knowledged opponents on arrow looping
are actually slower on approach because of caution. Plus given the training, you will score more hits looping than shooting a volley of straight ones.
If you want to combo are higher percents, learn to loop appropriately (thus the basics of advance technics).

Your game-play is actually improved with the help of arrow looping. I fell some ranks when I heard maybe I should study the basics, and I only used straight and curved arrows. It only helped my opponent come towards me quicker. Don't be predictable.

This topic was for those that think only shooting straight arrows is really better than looping.

Loop it if you wish. I'm sure they will see it come back around.

I'd say straight > loop. You can apply more pressure that way.

I'm a superb player. :colorful:

>_< meh.......
Sigh, its because I don't show vids. Its just something I don't like doing. I'll correct myself though, I am a good player =D.

I'd say straight > loop. You can apply more pressure that way.
Pressure is on you when first few is dodged or power shielded. But pressure starts when an arrow curves out the screen while you are free to move. OR will you want to straight arrow another pit or any absorb/ reflect character?

In all honesty, I do not like the arrow loop threads, because as many have said before, it really ruins a Pit's performance since it can leave you open. I do prefer Straight arrows, even though I have looped arrows for my pleasure (been doing it for a year now).

Looping arrows seems more ineffective against faster characters since they can get to u quickly, like a Sonic or Fox. Also, you're basically best using regular arrows to pressure some characters like Snake or DK, and especially MK.

I think you all need to practice some safe arrow loop mixups, "Instant throwing" is an example of something that was overlooked and turned out to be the next step in Diddy's metagame.

I understand arrow looping isn't necessarily the next step in advancing Pit's metagame, but every bit helps right?

That stuff wont work against players who will pressure Pit quite well. Even so, no matter how good u r, there will always be inaccuracy, and even I miss like 50-75% of the time. Cool looking? Yes, but helpful just isn't it. Again, been doing this for a year, and it just leaves you open, and you could be using straight arrows off the stage to gimp an opponent or camp them instead of this fanciness.
Why do I do it someone may ask? To be a Pit with a unique style, but unfortunately, there are too many Pits that are relying on this thing too much. I have learned a bit to use this more sparingly, but slowly began to focus more on pressure, which basic straight arrows can do.
Good Campy Pits don't use looped arrows too, and when you want to camp, DON'T WASTE TIME doing those annoying loops.

EDIT: Yes Rogue, I have said similar stuff like this before. The quantity of Pits who asked me how to loop arrows has increased, and hearing those that want to loop are even more. This has got to stop, regardless of me doing it in my combo video.

Lol what does that even mean.
Meh has many meanings, It can be a neutral expression to new presented statements, a way of saying okay shut up, a way of saying I know im right but i dont wanna argue with it, or a way of saying wow seriously? Your kiddin. Its basically a passive aggressive word that implies displeasure with anything its directed to.

:') Ive upgraded you to... *checks military rankings*

Apparently admiral is only listed in the marines and is the highest rank. So admiral ima upgrade you to fleet admiral which doesnt work until wartime.

Anywayz what arrow looping is said to be is a mindgame. If it were a mindgame when it is executed it should provide discomfort with your opponent. Arrow looping doesnt have different ways it can be used.. Its loop, approach, react. Since its easily dodged and countered by opponents whove seen it, it isnt good.
I think I have to say this sadly but you cant depend on your opponent not knowing how to fight you. “Professionally” you both know the matchup and whoever plays it better wins. Arrow looping has no place here.

I appreciate the rank, just remember I won't rely on these little things as much as I used to.

No offense to the OP but this is the 3rd or so thread we've had about Arrow Looping in the past month. They never get anywhere and hardly anything useful is talked about with reference to the topic. And as usual this one is no different, so I'm just going to go ahead and lock this before it goes along any further.
